Summary: I've also owned special wireless remotes for XBMC (at the time), which tried to include a keyboard on the back, and I never quite found them as useful as this full-fledged keyboard+mouse. No need to reinvent the wheel on this one.
Pros: A perfect all-in-one solution for wireless typing and mousing. Works well at a pretty average couch-to-TV distance, better if you position the receiver in the front of your HTPC, facing you. It's a rather large thing to use as a remote control, but I've found you can stash it pretty much anywhere...
Cons: If you have a long distance to cover between you (on the couch, for example) and the receiver, it will frustratingly cut out. You can take steps to help this out, but don't think you can get away with using it across the house.
Pros: The keyboard functionality is nice especially for home theater applications due to its compact size and no mouse needed feature. I had already owned one for a desktop computer that was used to connect to a TV. I ordered the same keyboard from here to save a few dollars and replace an older keyboa...
Cons: I received the K400R keyboard in the K400 (previous model) retail box (not brown OEM box as stated). Also, two AA batteries were already installed (included vs not included as stated). The back of the keyboard had some minor cosmetic scuff marks which was disappointing. That and the already insta...
Summary: It does a good job as a HTPC remote, but lacks illumination that would be useful in a dark room. Would love to see more wireless devices like this specifically for HTPC use this size.
Pros: Small size and included thumb pad makes it great for HTPC builds. Love the left mouse button added to the top left portion of the keyboard it makes moving and resizing windows far easier. Included USB range extender (even though I don't need to use it)
Cons: Feels like cheap plastic in your hands with little weight. No illumination on the key pad. No included software, and Logitech's broad device software does nothing useful, most functions are not usable.
Summary: Overall a great product from Logitech. I've been using these for a couple years now and they are so handy for media center PC's and for when you have a PC hooked up in your living room. Key's are responsive and the things are nearly unbreakable.
Pros: Logitech Quality Small And Light Touchpad Works Well Nicely Located Left Click
Cons: Does not have a dedicated set of function keys. The function keys are shared with the media keys. Makes work in the Bios more tedious.
Pros: I like the wireless keyboard. It is convenient with an HTPC I put together. The system is running Ubuntu and Windows 7.
Cons: It is sometimes refusing to work. I had to disconnect and reconnect the dongle. It is possible that my phone or router may have interfered with the signal. Hard to say. I made changes with my wifi management in my house. The keyboard has been good ever since.
Summary: If I were to order again, I would not buy refurbished. I guess Logitech has a different definition of refurbished than I do.
Pros: Lightweight and good button layout, good for media center PCs.
Cons: The keyboard they sent me was FILTHY. It was full of dust and looked like someone had spilled soda on it. The wireless receiver was nowhere to be found. Not in the box or in the battery compartment or battery cover where it is supposed to be. I had another Logitech mouse that I was able to use th...
