Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard

The Logitech G15 is a gaming keyboard that features a number of special function keys as well as a host of user-programmable keys. It comes in a combination of silver and black and is supported by Windows XP and Windows Vista and connect via USB.

The Logitech G15 Gaming keyboard features a standard QWERTY keyboard layout that includes alphanumeric keys, editing & navigation keys, function keys, and a numeric keypad. The keyboard also features user-programmable G keys that each have 3 shift states allowing for a total of 54 single-press macros that can be created and saved without the Keyboard Profiler application.

The Logitech G15 also features media keys that include common shortcuts for audio and video playback. It also has a folding LCD panel lit by white OELs. The GamePanel displays game statistics, macros, system information, or media information.

The keyboard also features illuminated keys that are backlit by blue LEDs. Users can choose from 2 LED brightness settings and can also choose to turn it off using the backlight control button.

Cable routing channels are also available at the underside of the keyboard allowing users to route mouse, headset, and other cables under the keyboard.

The keyboard also features an integrated USB 1.1 hub with 2 external USB ports located on the back of the device.

In 2007, a revised version of the keyboard was released by Logitech. The newer version is smaller and features 6 G keys rather than the original’s 18. The keys and LCD backlights are orange and the LCD panel is not foldable in the newer version.

    Alltogether Logitech has managed to make new revision of their succesful gaming keyboard and I can't see any real drawbacks with the new model. From now on we'll just have to wait and see how well the LCD gets utilized, it would be great to see the four buttons being used more. Read more

    I was split on how to evaluate the new G15. On the one hand, it is a very capable gaming keyboard, with many features that other keyboards, save the original G15, just don't have.     Can someone please clear this up once and for all: a review here states that "please note for all buyers that this is a UK keyboard and therefor the following key "|" is located on the bottom left and not above the enter key, the enter key remains the full size." Is this correct, or is the return key small like in ebuyer's picture? Is the pipe (|) key in the bottom left after all? I am asking about the newer (v2) keyboards purchased recently, please.
