Excerpt: I already had a wireless trackball so instead of using the mouse that came with the keyboard I wanted to use the tackball and new keyboard using one USB. If the USB has the orange star this is possible however not that easy to do. Partly because the range is short and I did not realize this. The wireless trackball had been working fine but putting them together must have shorten the range. The keyboard is now approximately 2 feet from the USB and works okay.
Excerpt: The keyboard is great. The mouse....not so much. The mouse is jumpy and not accurate. Had to go back to my old mouse to get any work accomplished. I work with a lot of spreadsheets and programs that have buttons located close together. I need a mouse that is accurate. My work time was slowed down because I would click where the button was but it would jump and click on the button below. Not effecient use of my time.
Excerpt: This is very nice in appearance, easy to set up, but is a disappointment in use. The receiver must be very close to the computer and the keyboard. Though I tried to operate 1-2 feet from the receiver, I could not type and found the mouse to be very weak, shaky and untenable. I will probably return this for an upgrade.
Excerpt: I was looking for an inexpensive alternative to buying an additional Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard (MEK). This one is not that alternative. If you have used the MEK you will know what I am talking about. Otherwise, this might be a good alternative for someone looking for a change – not for me.
