The Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution keyboard is powered by 4 AA Alkaline batteries that are included in the standard package while the mouse comes with integrated Li-ion rechargeable batteries as well as a rapid charging dock. The mouse takes about 2 hours to fully charge and can last about 14 days of regular usage.
The keyboard of the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution features integrated soft touch surfaces for wrist and palm support. It also comes with an LCD screen that measures 2.95 x .79 inches. This screen allows its users to view the current date, time, and room temperature. It also acts as a display for the calculator, media player, and email application. The display also acts as a notifier in case Bluetooth connection is lost.
Apart from the standard QWERTY keys, the keyboard features a host of function keys. At the top of the keyboard are the small Fn keys arranged in a row. To the right of that row are the calculator and sleep buttons. Multimedia keys are located at the right side of the keyboard where the Zoom In and Out buttons as well as the Flip3D button can be found. The multimedia keys can be programmed to have secondary functions when used with the FN key. Vista-specific keys can also be found at the lower right portion of the keyboard. These include Media Center, Photo Gallery, and Gadgets.
The Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution comes with a sculpted wireless mouse for right hand usage. It has a MicroGear tilt wheel for scrolling through documents and pages. At the bottom of the scroll wheel is a search button. There is also an additional wheel to be accessed using the thumb. This wheel switches applications through Vista Flip3D. Those using XP can use this wheel for task switching.

Worked really well at first. Kind of hard to sync mouse to keyboard. After awhile starts throwing in extra letters and numbers while typing. Mouse starts to wander off by itself, doesn't go where you point it. Got so frustrated that I buried it in the freshly poured cement out front. Did like the fact that I didn't have to buy batteries and it held a charge for a long time. Read more or see product

I received the keyboard and mouse in fine shape. It looks really nice and the keys feel pretty good. Now the problem, the bluetooth linked right up and worked fine, however, the LCD screen would not get data from the computer. It ia a useless feature. I searched support blogs and many people have had this problem. It is not a driver issue. I installed the latest drivers fron the website. The mouse: The scroll wheel has a soft ratcheting feel, That's OK. It's just that... Read more
Good quality product. The keyboard is very comfortable, and has plenty of handy features. I love the mouse, though. Not only is it comfortable, but there are so many buttons that come in handy for gaming. I own 2 other bluetooth keyboard-mouse combos from the same manufacturer, and this mouse is by far the best. The functional range is perfect for scenarios where your using a large display and your PC is on the other side of the room. It's actually plug and play, but to... Read more
