I had spent a few years looking for the perfect mouse/keyboard combo and this is it. I am a gamer and I have tried offerings from both Logitech (such as the G7) and Razer (Naga) and was disappointed. I bought this combo primarily for the mouse, since the last reliable wireless mouse I had was the bluetooth mouse from the diNovo combo (the keyboard from that combo was too breakable). It lasted 5+ years before it started to give me trouble. After using wireless mice that dropped a signal mid game and cordless mice whose cords frayed, I got this one. They should make all mice bluetooth. Not a single signal drop, no interference, and great for gaming (although not a whole bunch of macro buttons, but those don't do any good if the mouse drops a signal).

The mouse and keyboard even work with my android tablet, the Transformer Pad 300T (I use it with the keyboard dock so I can plug in the dongle instead of pairing it). This allows me to control media when the tablet is hooked up to the television across the room (This tablet is set up to use a mouse cursor when docked. Haven't tried it without the dock.).

The battery in the mouse lasts for days and days. Unlike my old diNovo mouse, this one has a built in battery, and instead of charging it every day, it only needs a charge once a week, although charging it in between shouldn't hurt the Li-ion battery. Hardcore gamers could probably game for a few straight days without a charge, most users could probably get 7-10 days from the charge depending on frequency of use.

The only minor con is the scroll wheel sometimes sticks in one mode or the other when I turn it on. Usually if i click it, it goes back to what it is supposed to be set on. I personally never use the fast scroll mode.

Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution

The Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution is a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse combo. Both support connectivity to Windows XP or Windows Vista through USB Bluetooth with a wireless range of about 30 feet.

The Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution keyboard is powered by 4 AA Alkaline batteries that are included in the standard package while the mouse comes with integrated Li-ion rechargeable batteries as well as a rapid charging dock. The mouse takes about 2 hours to fully charge and can last about 14 days of regular usage.

Keyboard

The keyboard of the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution features integrated soft touch surfaces for wrist and palm support. It also comes with an LCD screen that measures 2.95 x .79 inches. This screen allows its users to view the current date, time, and room temperature. It also acts as a display for the calculator, media player, and email application. The display also acts as a notifier in case Bluetooth connection is lost.

Apart from the standard QWERTY keys, the keyboard features a host of function keys. At the top of the keyboard are the small Fn keys arranged in a row. To the right of that row are the calculator and sleep buttons. Multimedia keys are located at the right side of the keyboard where the Zoom In and Out buttons as well as the Flip3D button can be found. The multimedia keys can be programmed to have secondary functions when used with the FN key. Vista-specific keys can also be found at the lower right portion of the keyboard. These include Media Center, Photo Gallery, and Gadgets.

Mouse

The Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution comes with a sculpted wireless mouse for right hand usage. It has a MicroGear tilt wheel for scrolling through documents and pages. At the bottom of the scroll wheel is a search button. There is also an additional wheel to be accessed using the thumb. This wheel switches applications through Vista Flip3D. Those using XP can use this wheel for task switching.
