Summary: I'm amazed at how many bad reviews this keyboard has gotten. I've used these since they came out, circa 2004. I've owned exactly 3 in that time. I ruined one myself, one I used till it was worn to the nub, and the third I'm still using now. I just bought 3 more since SteelSeries stopped producing them. I can only speak for myself, but I can't imagine going back to a standard keyboard.
Summary: the keys are a little closer together than my old Logitech Keyboard. So it took a little getting used to. Lots of preprogrammed games for the gaming keyboard module. Easy to swap keyboards. Easy to program it yourself. I don't recommend the Gaming configuration for everyday use. Only issue is my left shift key is either improperly installed or has a bad spring in it (On the regular keyboard.
Summary: Well, I won't mince words, This keyboard has to be one of the best innovations of our time.. :) The fact that it is optimized to run with most of the 3rd and 1st person action games out there already makes it a worth buy, plus, if you don't like the way the "preset" keys are mapped, you can customize them to your favorite settings..

Summary: First let me say that thier is a P/S version and a USB version of this keyboard. The P/S is the one that stinks like last years socks and only comes with the standard keyset.(it also REQUIRES you to buy a keyset for every game). This version sold here is the USB version and comes with 2 keysets. The standard is very sturdy and comfortable to type on. The keys are firm and resistant to presses(which I like myself) I have no problem typing on the standard.
Summary: I purchased the Zboard after seeing it for sale in the store. I have long wanted a keyboard that made gaming easier and this seemed to fit the bill. The keyboard is easy to use with its interchanging lay overs for normal qwerty style typing or its many custom game styles. Although it took a little getting used to a first, I have found that gaming goes smoother and easier now.
Summary: The gaming keyboard is great for in-game play. I love being able to use the ergonomically placed keys when I'm enthralled in an intense battle. The original key boards are ok, but zboard provides the gamer with the perfect finger/key placement for every move, weapon selection, or communications with fellow troops. Two thumbs up for game play. There is one nuisance that you have to be whiling to put up with though.
Summary: Ok, this is a tough decision. I love this keyboard now, it's great. However, honstly, it doesn't make me play much better, and whenever you want to type anything, you have to switch back to the regular keyboard because it's to hard to type with the gaming keyboard setup. In game you can pick and type good enough, but once your out of game you need to switch keysets. switching keysets isn't hard, infact its very very easy and only takes about 10 seconds.
