Summary: It has been almost 4 years since I purchased this gaming keyboard. No letters fade out, no unresponsive keys... nothing: it keeps rocking and making my enthusiatic gaming passion go on without issues. Highly recommended!
Summary: After installing Windows 8 I attempted to install the ZEngine and midway though the setup the system would stop with a Violation error and reboot. I contacted Steelseries support and received this. William, Unfortunately the entire line of ZEngine devices (Merc, Merc Stealth and Zboard) are incompatible with Windows 8. The software is licensed to us and because of this will not be remade for Windows 8. ZEngine is still fully compatible with all other versions of Windows.
Summary: I bought this keyboard to try and make playing games more comfortable and fun, and while it does that at the cost of having weird productive keys placement (the whole home end del key problem everyone else complains about), you're probably better off just going with a logitech g13 or other similar keypad.
Summary: I have played Call of Duty with this keyboard for about 4 years now. It works great. I like blue and purple better than red because they are brighter. The keys are not very quiet but do not disturb me. If you game a lot with one key ("W and Shift")the rubber will wear off a little, no big deal. I use about 25/34 keys on the game pad part(some doubled like 2 "F" keys). For some reason I can not get the program with it to work with Vista 64 bit.
Summary: The Merc stealth is in my oppinion the best gaming console out there. For me there were two main insentives for buying this device. First was the built in gaming pad, second was the backlit keyboard. Now I already owned the Ideazon Fang gamepad and I had nothing but love for how it enhanced my gameplay, so when I found out that there was a kepboard with the gamepad built in I was estatic. The pros: The buit in gamepad is ergonomically designed and fits the hand well.
Summary: I bought this keyboard to play games easier. It definitely does that. The software comes with a HUGE number of presets. You just select the game and jump in. Even better, it has a setting to detect the game and it switches the controls automatically! The only downsides to this otherwise awesome keyboard is the fact that in order to use the following keys:(Find, Home, PgUp, My Comp, Ins, End, PgDn, Show Desk, Del, Cut, Copy, Paste), you have to turn off numlock and the...
Summary: Very good board. Keys are set in the right places. Three color lighted keys, just wish you set the default color. Gaming keys are set out just about right. The normal keys are easy to use. Had the Ideazon with the replaceable keysets before this one. Key placement sucked. Gaming was easy, but when you tried to type/chat, you were hunting for the right key, not with this board. Only issue is the placement of the delete key. It is dual use with number pad 1.
Summary: I'm a big fan of Ideazon products. I previously owned their Zboard, but had some problems with it. The Merc Stealth, though, that solves all the problems I had and then some. On the positive side of things, the keyboard is responsive, with solid keys and good action. A complete, full-sized QWERTY board sits next to a pad of game specific keys, allowing easy transition from gaming to typing without any problems.
