Annoying Whine

Jeffrey R., Newegg
15 October 2007
  • Summary: The silver border does not show any signs of wear, and I have not had any issues with the keys sticking/breaking, but I have not spilled pop or food on it either.
  • Pros: Lighting is nice. Feels like a laptop keyboard. Fairly thin. Silver border has not rubbed off after about a year.
  • Cons: The faint whine produced by the EL power converter in the keyboard was so annoying that I took the keyboard apart and wrapped the transformer, which vibrates when energized causing the noise, in spongy material and electrical tape. Now it is quiet enough for me to sleep 10 feet away without heari...

Fantastic light, poor keyboard

Anonymous, Newegg
20 May 2007
  • Summary: If you're buying a light-up keyboard, chances are you look at the keyboard when you type, not the screen. You need something reliable, not cheap stuff like this.
  • Pros: Electroluminescent light strips cover the entire set of keys, and the buzz of the EL conerter is fairly quiet. Good laptop feel when typing.
  • Cons: Keys began to fail after a month, now I have to hammer on the V key.

Nice looking keyboard

Anonymous, Newegg
7 April 2007
  • Summary: I wanted a nice looking keyboard for a good price. Unfortunately, the silver color (read above) rubs off. It makes it not so nice looking anymore.
  • Pros: Nice looking (at first) and keys are quiet. Light up keys are great.
  • Cons: I've had this for about 6 months now. Silver color rubs off with use (it has a silver border). The color started coming off at about 3 months. (where the palms of your hands rest-- the color wears off).

  • Pros: It has a great feel and looks very nice.
  • Cons: I bought four of these and three of them failed one month to a year.

22 January 2007
  • Summary: keep away from it. This keyboard is very poorly manufactured.
  • Pros: looks beautiful when it is new.
  • Cons: Several keys stop working after 1 year of low frequency use. Part of the keyboard even lost it's original color.

22 December 2006
  • Summary: Have used it alot for over six months NPF. (no problem found) I hunt and peck so I like seeing the keys at night with lites off, My wife pounds out like 80wpm and loves it!
  • Pros: Looks awesome at night, feels great, low profile keys,(like a laptop), works.
  • Cons: Has a high pitched noise when light is on, my wife can't hear it unless she puts her head next to it, but I can hear it across the room.

Looks good but won't last

Richard R., Newegg
22 February 2005
  • Summary: This keyboard looks great, is nice and compact, and has a nice touch to it. Trouble is they don't seem to hold up. We got two and within two months some of the keys are sticking badly, they are not really useable any more. Not very durable
