Well built and functioning compact keyboard with buily in mouse.
20 March 2014
Summary: This is a neat little keyboard. It has a built in mousepad and fits in my hand pretty well. I purchased it to use with a smart TV but really use it on several devices that have a USB port. Solid and well built. I highly recommend finding one on here and not paying the retail prices!
Pros: perfect size for htpc that is also sometimes used to browse internet and what not. Touchpad works nice and smooth.
Cons: Not the best rf signal reception for the usb dongle. had to relocatee it with a extension cable for it to work good. to be expected since the HTPC sits in an enclosed cabinet. Although old bluetooth controller didn't have the same problems as this one. I would never want to type a lengthy essay on this keyboard. Not for office pc use unless you have hands of an 8 year old.
Summary: I wasn't familiar with Gear Head, but I was glad to find a keyboard with a touchpad, and theirs was the best price. Ultimately, it's not a good value, because the device is fatally flawed. The backspace key is smaller than I would like, making it hard to hit without looking, and I also tend to miss the Ctrl key, because it's not where I'm accustomed to. But those things I could get used to, and I like the placement of the touchpad, which is comfortable for me.
Excerpt: Don't buy this unless you want a tiny keyboard that is much smaller than average keyboards with keys in slightly different places. I couldn't stand it and had to return it. When it says a mini keyboard, it means really, a mini keyboard. I expected a smaller keyboard, not one where I hit 3-4 keys at once because they are closer together than other keyboards. I couldn't have been happier to return it.
Pros: easy to install
Cons: uncomfortable, Difficult to Use, keys in slightly different place
Cons: Wireless radio seems to be susceptible to interference in RF noisy areas. When used in my office where there are few other wireless devices, it worked flawlessly. When moved out to final deployment area with many other wireless mice & keyboards, range and responsiveness degrade to the point of unusabiliity.
Summary: Overall we've used this keyboard as our flagship Media Center Home Theater solution and every user has loved it. Price is right, compact, easiest setup because there is none, range is good, and it just simply works.
Pros: Is an awesome solution for Media Center Pc's integrated into Home Theater Systems. CANNOT BEAT THE PRICE! Small enough to comfortably hold with 2 hands and use trackpad with your thumb surprisingly well. Compact design makes it EASY to hide with remotes, on off switch onboard, and just hit enter to come out of sleep mode. VERY simple to use ZERO config, true plug and play.
Cons: As with anything we make smaller I admit typing is a little tough HOWEVER, compared to smartphones it's just fine. As a standalone PC keyboard it'd be annoying, as a Home Theater Media Center Keyboard it's great. No USB extension cable included. Many times you need to relocate the usb receiver for better general coverage and you must use a usb extension cable to do so. It's not a deal breaker as usb extensions are dirt cheap.
Excerpt: Good Deal. Compact and inexpensive wireless keyboard with a touch mouse on it. Perfect for keeping next to your T.V. Remote if you have a computer hooked up to your T.V. Only Draw Backs are it goes through batteries quickly and it is not back lit so you can't see to type without a light on.
Pros: Comfortable Design, Compact Inexpensive, Easy To Clean, Great Features, Highly Compatible, Quiet, Reliable Performance
