USB dongle fails

chris b., Newegg
14 February 2013
  • Summary: Just adding this as a warning for anyone that may be thinking about buying one at a retailer that still carries it. Stay away, there's a reason they discontinued it. Too bad though because otherwise it would be a great product.
  • Pros: Great keyboard feel, trackball works well, good range, looks nice.
  • Cons: Wireless dongle very fragile. The first one failed in a week or so. I thought it may have been my fault so I bought another keyboard and treated the second dongle with kid gloves, it still died within a week. Got that replaced under warranty and carefully glued the metal part of the usb connector...

MIKE B., Newegg

  • Summary: powers down when not in use, just press the shift key (or any key) to re-engage
  • Pros: comfortable, solid key presses, the track ball works beautifully, sensitivity easily adjusted, good range
  • Cons: the mouse buttons on the left, the track ball on the right, can be a little awkward to use

Almost there!

Doug D., Newegg
6 February 2010
  • Summary: Be aware that this keyboard is a re-badged Zippy/Iogear and that definitely means you should be aware of the trackball issues.
  • Pros: Very good looks, rugged build quality, excellent key response, perfect scroll wheel, great range.
  • Cons: The scroll ball could be a little more refined. It tends to be a bit sluggish at times, and not as graceful as I had hoped, but does get the job done. This keyboard would be perfect if the scroll ball was a bit tighter. I would have given five stars had it not been for the scroll ball.
