Sub-par keyboard not worth getting

Summary: I did not actually purchase this keyboard it came with the Velocity Micro PC i got from best by and i just now found out this is the same one. Firs of all the keys are too "slippery" i did not feel confertable typing with this, second of all the lighting options on the keys are not evenly lighted. the lower keys dont seem to get much light so make its harder to see.
Summary: I received this keyboard when I ordered my Velocity Micro Z55 computer. Excellent computer and I was anticipating my new lighted keyboard but what a disappointment it turned out to be. The light for the key has only 3 levels and that's too dim at it highest level, even with the room lights out. The keys light unevenly. Also, if the keyboard back lighting is turned off, it very hard to see what the letters are.
Summary: The letters wore off the keys in 2-3 months. Its now gathering dust and peeling paint chips all over the floor in the corner. You can get this keyboard direct from Creative's site for $19 now. Its a piece of junk and I am not going to buy anything more from Creative cause their quality on many items has gone south. Keys should be painted from the backside to prevent wear and not using a paint that PEELS.
Great keyboard for the price. Does everything it needs to do.

Summary: I purchased this keyboard because of its look and name. I haven't really been disjointed. I noticed some of the keys are dimmer such as the left side Caps lock, shift and control keys but I have found that typing on this keyboard has increased my accuracy and speed. The lighting is beautiful; if you snap in the "Spectre Scythe" as I call it (little Everquest Reference for you Necromancers out there), the little plastic swoosh at the bottom of the keyboard, the back light...
Summary: Yea, the backlighting leaves a lot to be desired but, well I got it for free with my Velocity micro computer and really enjoyed the 'laptop' style keys. I've moved onto the razor lycosa gaming keyboard which at 79 bucks isn't doing anything better for me. In fact, I like this one better as it sits up higher and you can use a standard wrist support foam pad with it.
Summary: Pro's: looks nice with out the clear plastic wrist rest when new. Default browser buttons work well in Firefox3, in WinXP 32bit and Linux(Ubuntu 8.04 based) 32bit. Con's: Looks ugly as sin, with the wrist rest on. The keys are cheaply painted black over clear keys, and the paint wears/flakes off easy in 2 months time. sloppy key set compared to a Fatality(A far and above better keyboard than the Spectre) from which I had came from.
Nice fast keyboard for coding, speed typing, hard to see letters

Summary: I have found this keyboard to have very difficult to see lettering on in any high contrast lighting unless you hold your head straight over the top of the keyboard so you are looking down on the blue backlit keys. The light simply does not go bright enough to see them comfortably from normal typing position, particularly when you are typing with a bright monitor in front of you.
pretty keyboard, but hardly appropriate for anything beyond gaming.

Summary: I've had this keyboard for 6 months. While it is very pretty(backlighting works well in my room) and fine for gaming, it is not the typist special. The keys are very very stiff and wear out my fingers fast after a few sentences. Very stiff! I have a $20 A4 wireless combo with mouse on another computer whose cheapo keyboard(while shallow in key feel) is like Paradise to type on in length next to the Creative Spectre.
Summary: I've used many keyboards over the years and currently have 8 keyboards in the house for 2 computers. I can say that this keyboard caught my attention for the looks and the backlighting. Unfortunately, like the Saitek, the letters wore off of this keyboard in a short period of time. Within a few weeks of use my E,S,D keys were completely worn away.
