Fantastic Keyboard

Hiu L., Newegg
3 May 2015
  • Summary: I use it with an M95 and I gotta say this one is one of the best keyboards in the market. Macro keys and the software are easy to use. The macros on the macro keys work pretty well and work on every game that I play (like one key to eat snacks in GTA5).
  • Pros: White Backlighting Quality Not flimsy at all like some other brands Sail Logo (not the Corsair Gaming Logo) Macro Keys Easy to use software Full MX Red Plain black color Keyboard memory
  • Cons: Expensive RGB version even more expensive

Ultra smooth key action, lighting no problem

Vincent G., Newegg
6 February 2015
  • Summary: The keyboard's keys are entirely raised, which looks very strange at first glance. Basically if you took a regular keyboard and removed the top-most bezel, you'd have the same idea.
  • Pros: What a unique keyboard! To start with, this keyboard uses Cherry MX "red" mechanical switches. What that means is that the action for the keys is linear. In other words when you start pushing the key the force required is even until the key bottoms out. Depending on your usage, that can be good (...
  • Cons: For actual typing speed, this style of keyboard (while still good) isn't optimal. I'm a fairly fast touch-typist, and my 'daily driver' is a buckling spring type keyboard (think original IBM noisy type). With that type of keyboard I can easily clock in 116 WPM with 99.5% accuracy when I put my mi...

So far it is perfect!

Rikki B., Newegg
19 January 2015
  • Summary: -The keyboard is longer than others -Other reviews about LED reliability My wife's keyboard is just a standard layout and normal-sized, it comes to be about 17 3/4" long, this keyboard is 2.5 inches longer at 19 3/4" long.
  • Pros: -Feels great -Red switches are great with the way the keys are raised up -18 programmable keys for macros or whatever else I decide I need over there -Easy to use media controls -Ability to disable Windows key for gaming -Multiple Profiles -Individual key backlighting (with multiple brightness le...
  • Cons: -Does not have headphone/mic inputs build into the keyboard -Only 1 USB port -No software install CD I was a bit sad to see no headphone hook up on the keyboard. My old one did have that which was nice when I was using my wired headset. Also, most gaming keyboard I have had have 2 USB ports built...

31 December 2014
  • Summary: Badass keyboard been using for a year now mostly with no hiccups except when I try to mess with the software. one led gave out already but I hardly even use the illuminated keys so its not a big deal to me. I use this keyboard strictly for work as I don't game.

  • Pros: Very responsive keys. Custom lighting is awesome. Love the multiple profiles.
  • Cons: It's big. So only get it if you have plenty of room.

Buy it for the macro keys

Lee B., Newegg
3 October 2014
  • Summary: The one mod I made to the board is to install o-rings on the three main rows of the keyboard (alphabet & punctuation keys) --- I like the slightly softer feel and typing is much quieter, which my wife appreciates when I’m working late at night.
  • Pros: After a little more than a year with my K95, I’m very happy with it. The board has a solid feel, I type fast and comfortably with the Cherry red key switches. and the media controls are very convenient. But the feature that makes the board for me is the macro keys, which I use all the time -- the...
  • Cons: Lots of people have had trouble with the led backlighting. I don’t use the lights and keep them turned off, so I wouldn’t know if they were working or not (last time I checked, they all were).

User Review

Andrew W., Newegg
18 September 2014
  • Summary: The keyboard had a promo the day I bought it for a free headset, so the price of the keyboard and the headset kind of balanced out on the price issue for me.
  • Pros: Solid. I could use this keyboard to fend off a zombie attacking me... and then sit down and continue doing whatever i was doing on my computer. The key action almost reminds me of an old word processor, but it's smooth. the keys don't feel like they will hang or are loose.
  • Cons: If you have bear paws for hands... this keyboard is going to feel fairly cramped to you if you try to do any typing (like a review...) since it's definitely made to be a gaming keyboard. The keys are close and compared to the old microsoft keyboard I have... I'm almost reaching across the entire ...

I just toasted my favorite keyboard. A lot of money down the drain

Ron Clark, Amazon
14 September 2014
  • Summary: I felt that I should write up a review, after what happened to this keyboard over the weekend. I had a VERY large glass of tea (32 oz.) spill directly into my keyboard while it was powered up. The lights all went out immediately, and I thought "Oh no, I just toasted my favorite keyboard.

Love it.

Kenneth H., Newegg
12 September 2014
  • Summary: This is a great keyboard. The money you spend is the quality that is returned. The only reason why I might replace this keyboard is because the SAME keyboard is coming out in RGB back-lighting, sometime late 2014, early 2015, instead of only WHITE back-lighting.
  • Pros: Ownership: I've owned this keyboard for 6 months - zero problems. Keyboard Primary Use: Gaming [World of Warcraft (limited), League of Legends (extensively), CS:GO (extensively)] Personal Knowledge Level: I've purchased a few membrane keyboards over the years, but this was my first dive into mech...
  • Cons: Cons: -Issue with back-light for the keys above QWERTY, ( ~, 1-9, -, +) and other keys that have dual, shift-related, functions, ( :, ", <, >, SHIFT, ENTER, and numpad). The back-lighting for these keys only lights the top function (ex. 1-button: ! is bright, 1 is dull). The bottom function is ab...

AWESOME!

Daniel P., Newegg
22 August 2014
  • Summary: I think the price on this thing should drop to $100 to compete with the Logitech keyboards, especially since this model doesn't have multi-color key options. I'm hoping that keys don't stick like they did on the previous multi-color model they had last year.
  • Pros: 1) Best Mechanical Keyboard Ever! 2) I like how the "Corsair" logo is subtle and black and there's nothing to distract you from looking at the keys or the feel of the keys. 3) I also like the comfortable hand rest which I usually don't with these things. But it's a hard hand rest so I'll probably...
  • Cons: 1) Only has a "white" light, for some reason Corsair removed the ability to have multiple colors on this keyboard, I really love blue keys. But the white is fine in the dark on the lowest setting. I wish there was a way to INCREMENTALLY adjust the brightness of the keys instead of 0%, 33%,66%, an...
