It's alright

Daniel W., Newegg
24 December 2015
  • Summary: If you're playing a game that doesn't rely on rapidly tapping the same key a certain amount of times, then I would consider this. The typing is pretty solid, and the keys can be precise. People who want a keyboard for rapid movements, I would recommend the K70.
  • Pros: It's a pretty good mechanical keyboard. Takes macros, lets you play with lights, lets you switch keys around. Nice and heavy, so you'll know it'll stay. The exterior looks very nice.
  • Cons: It detects triple taps WAYYYY too frequently. In a game where I have to double tap in small time frames, this is by far the worst choice. 50% of the time I input W twice, it'll activate a triple tap and stop me dead in my tracks. It's quite annoying. I also noticed that switching the BIOS trigger...

Great board, but way too many dead LED's

Jacqueline R., Newegg
12 July 2015
  • Summary: All in all, fantastic board. No regrets in buying, just disappointed that my board is slowly but surely killing all it's LED's. When that happens, one of the main reasons I bought the board will be nonexistent.
  • Pros: Excellent board. Great feel, solid frame/design and looks gorgeous. I was looking for a mechanical keyboard in the same fashion as the Logitech G510 with the 18 G-keys and since Logitech dropped the ball on that one, I went with Corsair. Which to me, was all well and good considering I'm a bit of...
  • Cons: ...after just under five months of usage, LED's for the back lit keys are dying. It started with the 1 on the number pad which was DOA. Sad that it got passed QA that way, but I was willing to live with it. Fast forward to today, I currently have nine dead LED's with a few that are dim on their w...

  • Cons: The lights on the keys are dropping flies.

Fun while it lasted.

Cameron N., Newegg
4 June 2015
  • Summary: The keyboard still functions as a keyboard, and so I feel that the hassle to send it back doesn't outweigh the annoyance. I will not be sending this one back, but I will not be purchasing another keyboard from Corsair.
  • Pros: The keyboard is satisfying to type on. The while back-lights are gorgeous. It is easy to program in various macros.
  • Cons: Eleven months after purchase I turn on my computer and notice seven LEDs have stopped functioning and do not light with any possible lighting configuration.

This is a 5 Star product that delivers 3 Stars.

Kenneth H., Newegg
8 May 2015
  • Summary: If you don't care about the cons i said, don't buy this keyboard. Find another solid mechanical keyboard that works on boot. I'm only writing this because seriously.. this is ridiculous. Other things: 1) no USB pass-through compared to the K95 standard (bummer, but fine).
  • Pros: The keyboard (please read cons) is really fantastic. The physical elements of the keyboard are of the highest quality I've seen in a keyboard. The keys feel great, the mechanical (I have MX Cherry REDs) are fantastic. However, coming from a standard Vengeance K95 keyboard (the predecessor to this...
  • Cons: What they promised with this upgrade from the K95 Vengeance is delivered, but with a HUGE drawback. The drivers on this keyboard are some of the worse I've ever seen. They still release drivers for it, trying to improve, but the same problems persist. THIS KEYBOARD IS REGULARLY NOT RECOGNIZED BY ...

Lasted a few months

Kaying L., Newegg
12 April 2015
  • Pros: The first few months this keyboard worked flawlessly. The macros and shortcut keys are very convenient to use, same with the software that you have to download.
  • Cons: After a few months it started to fail on me. The option for the rainbow wave died on me, same with the color shift, ripple and pulse option. So if you want to use this keyboard, I really recommend you get a warranty just in case. Now it just doesn't light up anymore. Everything still works, but t...

Overall nice but...

Theodore F., Newegg
9 April 2015
  • Summary: For $180, it is disappointing that the keyboard lights freeze. Could have spent $40 less for the LED one vs the RGB one. The only remedy is either unplug it or reboot computer. Keyboard itself still functions, just lights freeze. Why? Have latest CUE software and firmware.
  • Pros: cherry MX keys, programmable, case materials feel solid.
  • Cons: Lights freeze randomly.

Not the Best

Anne F., Newegg
9 April 2015
  • Summary: Wouldn't buy it again if I had the choice. Would go with another brand like Ducky, WASD, or even Filco for the money I spent on this.
  • Pros: Great build quality. Nice media controls. Nice braided cables. Macro keys are very nice too.
  • Cons: LEDs burnt out. I've been using the board for 1.5 years and more than 1/3 of them burnt out and don't work anymore. It looked nice for a little while at least right? Expensive as hell. The Macro keys are separated from the frame and are mounted on plastic while the rest of the board is sitting on...

Perfect Keyboard Accept.....LEDs

Jeffery J., Newegg
23 March 2015
  • Summary: I originally had 2x of the K70 Gun metal with Blue lighting, with blue switches. After about 6 months on each board, the LED's began to start randomly dying out. Both keyboards have since been replaced, one with this board, which since RMA the G18 key has dimmed out, not died, just dimmed, so not a...
  • Pros: Very high quality feeling keyboard Excellent key feedback Great Layout Good Software Pretty backlighting
  • Cons: You guessed it.......LED Failure

Avoid... Buy the new RGB version instead

Tristran, Amazon
19 March 2015
  • Summary: Great keyboard let down by multiple failing LED units and costly warranty return program. I asked Corsair support if I could upgrade (paying the difference) to the RGB version which was released later and has been proven to be more reliable, they declined and told me I needed to pay a fee to get my...
