Summary: I have never found a perfect substitute for the old IBM keyboards, but the Cherry CyMotion comes close. It has a similar feel and comfort to them, but is not nearly as robust, unfortunately. However, if you don't drop it on it the floor and clean it regularly, the Cymotion gives grand service. You can't argue with the price, either!
Summary: The keyboard is nice, but I have just found from experience that it is not coffee proof! One spillage has resulted in the loss of my semi-colon. I have come back to buy another however. I can only imagine that the other reviewers are reviewing a different keyboard when they refer to the noise, I simply cannot understand to what they might be talking about.
Summary: I have small hands and work as a designer/programmer. I also type very fast. I wanted to get away from the fancy Microsoft and Logitech keyboards and look for something simple and practical. As I started typing, it felt just right. It is very comfortable. There is a solid but smooth motion in the key pressing. The layout is low profile but not as light as a laptop keyboard.
Summary: This keyboard was far cheaper than my previous keyboard (G15), I bought it on recommendation from a friend. For typing it is amazing, nice feel to it in my opinion. However I do have to agree with the other reviewer 2 of us in my house have this keyboard and with us both typing a large amount of the time I sometimes find my other house mates shaking in a corner somewhere due to the noise. This however doesn't bother me of course!
Summary: This keyboard sounded good - not too cheap, not too pricey. It is very well made, solid, with little flex. Looks smart. No connection probs. Comes with USB->PS2 converter. Cherry have added another modifier key between the left Windows and control keys to access the secondary functions attached to the F keys. This reduces the space available for the other modifier keys, and, in my opinion, gets in the way. Otherwise the keyboard layout cannot be faulted.
Summary: It was advertised as having a UK English layout, but the one received has a US English layout. Overall a quality purchase for the price -- quiet keys, but with a good tactile response and feel.
Summary: I purchased this keyboard for the size/shape of the enter button on the keyboard as it suits my typing needs. However, the keyboard which arrived is different from the picture here on Amazon. For that reason I'm returning the product, although the keyboard itself is perfect otherwise. The other issue I have is that the product box had a significant bloodstain on the outside?!?! Absolutely horrified that Amazon thought that a customer wouldn't mind receiving this.
Summary: The Cherry Cymotion Expert is the best mid range keyboard Cherry has produced. Unfortunately it is no longer in production, so if you can find one, buy it. The Cymotion is comfortable to use, with firm, responsive keys and is built like the proverbial brick outhouse. My present keyboard has withstood 6 years of punishment and is still going strong.
