Conclusion: The EluminX Illuminated Keyboard is a quality designed product that will appeal to any enthusiast, low light computing environments and the die-hard case modders. The use of an electroluminescent plate as apposed to EL wire provides an extra touch and sense of a professionally designed product that would be hard to duplicate.
Excerpt: The keyboard segment of the computing industry is a relatively stable market with similar product lines from a number of manufacturers. Most QWERTY keyboards can be segmented into traditional keyboards or split style keyboards such as the Microsoft Natural Keyboard (which angles and separates the keys to provide an ergonomic way of typing).
Excerpt: EluminX has made military keyboard lighting technology available to the masses, and thank goodness. The EluminX Keyboard features an ultra compact design and backlit keys, perfect for curling up with at night.

Conclusion: When all is said and done, the eluminX is a cool little gadget and is definetly worth a look if you think it matches your system's demeanor. The actual keys and comfortablity are right up there with the best I've tried and it's definetly the best looking. However, the lack of function keys, lighting control and a high price tag land it out of award range.
Pros: looks amazing, apparently good for your eyes, responsive feel and solid quality, slim and comfortable
Cons: expensive at $100, ugly green lock LEDs, zero programable function hotkeys, can't turn the EL off at will
