Summary: I love Zojirushi and have three rice cookers (for home, boyfriend's apt and my vacation home) as well as two water boilers. I bought this one for the office since it was so chic looking, but I found it immediately started accumulating a weird white film/grime every day from the start. I thought it might be an issue of hard water from the office supply, but the same thing happened using bottled water. I had to scrub it out every day!
Summary: I love this appliance! So convenient and requires very little upkeep, I initially purchased this item to boil and hold warmed spring water to make formula for my infant, but we use it for everything: hot tea, hot chocolate, sometimes cooking. It's a great way to keep clean, fresh water on hand in a conatiner that blends with the other kitchen appliances and doesn't take up too much space.
Summary: I purchased this item mostly for my tea habit. I drink tea constantly throughout the day, so this kitchen appliance was something I had really been wanting. I turned to Zojirushi, as I usually do, because their products are so reliable. This product is easy to use, simple to take care of, and easy on the eyes. Based on the other reviews posted, I suspect I'll have this little gadget around for at least the next 5 years. Definitely recommended for a small household!
Summary: I love this device because it saves me space on the stovetop for a kettle, saves me time in the morning for coffee (perfect for French press or pour over-drip style coffee) and has many other uses. Need hot broth for a recipe? Get out the bullion and add water from the zojirushi. Want to heat the cold bowl from your cupboard in winter before ladling hot soup into it? Use the zojirushi. Instant gratification. I adore it.
Summary: It gets rust at the rim and the top ventilation holes. Very low quality product. Avoid. Very disappointed with this line of water boiler. I thought it was dirt but the 'brown' stuff turned out to be rust.
Summary: Love the aesthetic, but unfortunately rust spots have begun to form inside (only 2 weeks since I started using it). I called Zojirushi and was told that this is caused by unfiltered water and can be removed with citric acid. Fair enough, but I wonder why I don't encounter this same problem with my metal/glass kettle (where I also keep water inside almost all the time).
