Summary: This is my second Sanyo product I purchased this year. The first one, a rice cooker, performed well to my liking, but it had a faulty lid issue. I just ignored it as an anomaly, and I was just unlucky to have picked up one bad apple out of hundreds. Interestingly and incredibly, I'm having the same lid issue with this electric kettle!! What's with Sanyo? With their global brand name, they just can't get the lid right? Excuse me!!?
Started leaking water after less then three months of use
30 June 2010
Summary: This is an attractive unit assembled in China. The unit started leaking water after less then three months of use. It's kind of funny because my previous Krups FLF2-J4 Cordless Electric 54-Ounce Water Kettle which has had the same problem but lasted a year or so. So this is second time the same problem surfaced. Looks like quality of assembly of kettle appliances became dismal: buyer beware.
Summary: A simple design is a bit jazzed up by the blue glow. Overall works fine. I don't notice any taste difference reported by others but can not claim to be very discerning connoseur either. A top lid seems a bit sticky. Sometimes have to push the button several times for it to open. Other than that seems like a good value product.
Summary: I am so happy with the Sanyo kettle that I just ordered another one from Amazon so that I could have one for my office and one at home. Before purchasing, I read the many reviews of many electric kettle products and learned about the common problems: bad taste, not able to see the water level window, not hot enough, short cord, etc. For the most part, the reviews on the Sanyo lacked multiple problems.
Summary: I purchased Sanyo U-K170S 1-3/4-Quart Stainless-Steel Electric Kettle about a month before entering this comment. I was waiting for the kettle to arrive a bit longer than usual. But it was worth of waiting: such a right choice! Elegant, stylish, silent, sufficiently large for a family of four. Recommending!
Summary: After being a tea drinker all my life I have found the transition from stove-top kettle to electric kettle completely seamless. This kettle in particular boils water really fast while lighting up in a pretty blue color. I find it noteworthy that this kettle is much quieter than a standard stove-top kettle and it conveniently shuts itself off once it's done.
Summary: I have used electric kettles for most of my adult life. I have used the Sanyo kettle for over a month now and it does a good job with its primary function of heating water. It's a nice looking unit, but the blue light is only discernible in a totally dark room. A red LED on the exterior would have been far superior as an indicater of the kettle being ON. My only real complaint is the button for opening the top lid.
Summary: This is first electric kettle I have used. It comes in very handy for my whole family (I use it to make coffee with a melita filter. It is attractive and easy to clean and it shuts itself off. What's not to like?
Summary: I've had this for about 6 weeks or so and it's worked great for me so far. Boils fast and the stainless is great (probably much better for the health than plastic, which is why I bought it.) Automatic off is a good feature and works well. My only (minor) complaint is that the minimum line is often more than I need so I wind up emptying out some of the boiled water, which is kind of a waste. Still boils the minimum amount in just a couple minutes..
