This Inexpensive Kettle Works But Lacks Features I Want

quasar, shopping.com
19 September 2012
  • Summary: If nothing else is available, go ahead and buy this kettle. I'd look for a model with a base and a whistle instead if you have a choice.
  • Pros: successfully heats water, inexpensive, requires little maintenance, turns off automatically
  • Cons: plug goes directly into kettle, no whistle, inconsistent heating times, hard to see fill level

Sturdy little kettle

indigoscot, shopping.com
9 April 2010
  • Excerpt: The Hamilton Beach kettle was the first electric kettle I purchased to make tea.  It works great, is a great priced and made my tea taste so much better than when I microwaved the water to heat it up.  We traded up for a nicer looking kettle.  The only negative that we had with it was because the element is exposed to the water, it got hardwater build up on it after a while.
