Summary: Bought this kettle twice now, stroppy teenager broke last lid. However, we did have it number of years. Can recommend it to anyone needing good kettle. That said it is very well built but also heavier than plastic ones.
Summary: I spent a bit of time comparing different kettles and was drawn to this one by it's 'eco' feature of being able to boil just one cup plus the positive reviews of others. Having owned the kettle for a few weeks I'm very impressed. It is quieter than my old kettle, has a convenient button-oprated lid and a spout that pours well. Initially I found it a little heavy but have got used to this now.
Summary: Buy it! I can't really say more than that. We had one of these before and when it finally needed replacing we decided to have a change, regretted it immediately (as the lid opening mechanism broke after a couple of uses!) and switched back to this.
Summary: The kettle's a bit bigger and heavier than I expected it to be (may be why it's quieter) but still looks good, handles easily and moves freely on the base (allowing for right or left-handed use.) The 'one cup' feature literally is one cup...you need to fill it closer to the 'two cup marker' if, like me, you have your tea by the mug. It boils quickly and is much quieter than most other kettles I've owned.
