Did not work on receipt - HB refused to replace

James T. Looney "Sailors on SeaLoon", Amazon
30 July 2012
  • Summary: Bought this for my college daughter. When we took it out of the box and plugged it in (with water in it). The kettle simply did not work. Nothing. Zip. When I called Hamilton Beach they said the item was out of date and refused to take any action. When we first used the item it was beyond the 30 return policy of the seller.. Buy from another manufacturer....

Real DUD--The worst one yet.

sooz-a-ma-gooz, Amazon

  • Summary: Our family uses an electric kettle every day. Me for my coffee press and hubby is an instant coffee and tea drinker. I thought this would be a workhorse for us. We typically have to buy new ones every two years or so......they just seem to die after that. Purchased this Hamilton Beach kettle in December 2011 and it died today--June 2012. The lid is impossible to get off without using a "tool" like a large spoon handle to pry it off.

Poor Value for Money

Dorkasaurus, Amazon
4 September 2011
  • Summary: I received this kettle as a gift three years ago. While it does the job of heating water and it does so at a decent speed, there are some significant downsides and I would not purchase this kettle by choice. First, it's not very quiet. The kettle makes noise for some time before the water reaches temperature. Not a huge issue on its own, but a strike against it. Second, all of the metal parts of the kettle heat up (predictably) with the water.

  • Summary: this time of year tea, hot chocolate, and instant soups are just part of the cold season regimine. This electric tea kettle saves me so much time. With the simple set it an forget it i don't have to worry about not turning off stoves or cleaning out microwaves. Just click the switch then pour and done.

Wish I received it.....

Robyn Neeley, Amazon
23 August 2010
  • Summary: Use extreme caution when ordering from Today's Concept....wish I checked the non-Amazon reviews. This item is still showing in stock but I have been told that they don't have it nor will they. Ordered close to a month ago and was shipped the wrong item. Returned it and was promised the correct item....that never showed up. Called again and was promised that it would be over-nighted to me...another empty promise.

Bad, bad, bad

M. Chase, Amazon
17 January 2010
  • Summary: This tea kettle was a huge disappointment for me. First of all, it leaked. Secondly, my intention in getting a tea pot such as this was to have a constant supply of hot water in my office for tea. Once you push the lever down to heat the water, it makes a huge loud noise. It does heat the water rather quickly, but self-shuts off. When you're ready to pour water for a 2nd cup of tea, the water has cooled off and you have to endure the loud noise again and wait.

Not worth it!

ElleEm, Amazon
12 December 2009
  • Summary: Within 3 weeks of purchasing this tea kettle it broke completely, and stopped working for no reason. Bad workmanship and not reliable - I would steer clear of this one. It may look great but it's not worth the money.

Two things to make it great

sildhe mac "Sim", Amazon
6 December 2009
  • Summary: This electric tea kettle is very classy looking and works very well. Two things would make it better:-1.a light to tell it is on. 2. the lid is extremely tight and the handle difficult to grasp. We loosened the lid and it helps a lot. Did a man design this??
