Summary: Note after 6 months of use: The interior bottom of the kettle is now full of rust. This is the second kettle we've had that rusted... The warranty they offer requires you to pay $10 shipping both for the new unit as well as to ship the old defective unit back. When the original cost of the items is only $56 to begin with, this seems pretty steep when it's their fault the product is faulty anyway. DISSATISFIED.
Remove two little plastic pieces for a 100% STAINLESS interior

Summary: This is our second Cuisinart. First still going strong after 5 years. Out of the box you will see inside two small pieces of plastic. REMOVE THESE and you have a 100 PERCENT STAINLESS TEA KETTLE. These doodads have zero functionality - so no loss there. Why Cuisinart doesn't remove or replace these themselves and market the kettle for its pure stainless interior I honestly do not know.
Summary: I've had this product for about a half-year now and have been using it multiple times a day since I purchased it. The product was used but refurbished. I have found the surfaces to be more than usually resistant to staining and scaling, and the overall build-quality of the product is very high. The handle is comfortable to use, and it takes very little time to heat 1.5 qts of water. The kettle is operating now as it was on the day I received it.
Summary: I have had this for about a month and while it took some time to get used to it, I really like it. Having just had another cheap brand burn out on me, following 2 others of a wellknown brand (which I will never buy again), I was prepared for more of the same while cautiously hopeful. So far it works well- I waited for a month before reviwing.
Reliable, last a long time, cleans easily, functional, looks good enough to be left out on the counter

Summary: I have had one of these for over 7 years, and my 'old' one is still running strong and looks great. I finally decided I wanted to make tea & french press coffee at work, so I bought another. Do these cost a bit more than other hot water kettles. Yes. The upside is that the finish does not rub off or scratch (my 'old' one still looks almost brand new when I simply wipe it off), and this model is like the energizer bunny--it just keeps going, and going...
Excerpt: The one drawback about this product is that, when you're distracted or in a rush, it's possible to forget that it's an electric kettle, and by mistake, put it on the stove and turn on the heat. Disaster!! Unfortunately, that's happened, and then it's ruined, because the bottom is plastic, and melts with heat. It really stinks up the house. I've had to replace it twice because of this (1x my husband did, and 1x I did). Sad, but true.
Excerpt: We love this kettle. It heats the water fast. It looks good and is reliable. We have had one for years. We only needed a new one because the first one was accidentilly put on the stove top and the base was melted. The only thing I don't like is when it comes to a boil, it just shuts off, so you don't know unless you are in the room. (The shut off is a great safety feature, though.) Also, you can't get parts for it.
