Summary: Received this kettle today. I bought it to replace a Braun WK600 Impressions 7-Cup Electric Kettle, which I have had since 2007. Frankly the Braun is an extremely difficult act to follow. It was simple and straight forward to use, boiled water very quickly and was robust. This Cuisinart seems light and quite flimsy by comparison and takes much longer to heat water to boiling.
If you see this half price then it's most certainly worth considering

Excerpt: Cuisinart Kettle CPK 17U Why purchase this one? When our old faithful Kenwood kettle (stainless steel) came to the end of its life it was time to install a young pretender to the throne. We hoped that this new generation kettle would live up to the standards that we had enjoyed thus far.
Summary: "Overall this kettle is working really well. It looks very good, boils the water quickly and accurately, doesnt make too much noise and does not have a plastic interior that would taint the water Firstly this review is for the Cuisinart CPK17U sold in Europe (not the Cuisinart CPK17 sold in the USA) the main difference between these two models is that the CPK17 has a "30-minute keep warm" where it boils the water and keeps on boiling it constantly for up to 1/2 hour.
Summary: Superbe bouilloire pour le thé.
