Summary: At first we were very disappointed when we received it because the container is not made out of glass but plastic. However that's a specific type of plastic that is between glass and plastic, something fancy when you look closer. Ok so the machine is great, well constructed, very satisfying to use, a great gadget.
Would love it more if there were a finer mesh basket available

Summary: I love this tea maker - and I agree with most of the great reviews. I won't bother to duplicate what everyone else has written. I will just say that I wish a finer mesh basket were available for the tea because I almost always drink rooibos. Rooibos tea leaves are usually so fine that they pass through the basket into the pot where they continue to steep after the basket has been raised out of the tea.
Summary: I received my Breville tea maker yesterday and gave it the recommended cleaning. It certainly is a beautiful machine and looks well made. However, for the price, I did not expect to see plastic used where water boils. Granted, this has been stated to be BPA free, but again, for the price there shouldn't be any.
Very high pricetag for an item which fails very quickly

Summary: I researched this item a few days before I purchased and most of the chatter was favorable. With the price tag I wanted to be sure so I even searched some of the outside ratings companies for feedback and could not find much negative. So, I purchased the exceptionally expensive tea maker ($248.00) using my prime account. The item comes with a manufacturers 12 month warranty and at 17 months mine failed.
Summary: I'm an avid tea-drinker and was surprised and thrilled to find a Breville under the Christmas tree. It was easy to learn to use, fun to watch the basket move up/down, quiet, etc., etc. Fast forward seven months: - I've yet to brew a cup of tea strong enough to suit me, no matter how long I steep it. - I don't think the tea tastes as good as when brewed the old-fashioned way. I did an experiment - brewed some each way. There's a noticeable difference.
Summary: I have been looking at tea kettles for several months. This was always the one I considered the top of the bunch. Although I have always been more into tea than coffee, my tea making has always been on the amateur side in regards to experience. Some recently opened tea shops in town changed all that, and I have switched over to only loose tea. The biggest issue I had when making tea was distraction.
Summary: For some reason, the last 3 small appliances I've purchased are Breville. Their products are reliable, ingenious features, and attractive enough to find a home on the counter so that we use them every single day. This Tea Maker makes the smoothest tea I've ever had and to perfection! It's easy to use, easy to clean, and seldom do I need to "customize" the setting - the pre-programmed settings make the proper strength.
Summary: firstly, a disclaimer, stating unequivocally that the product DOES NOT contain any BPA-producing components is clearly noted, not only on the outside of packaging carton, but on some of the enclosed, supporting materials as well. once adjusted to the user's tastes, the tea maker produces a fine cup of tea.
Summary: This is an honest review of my experience with my Breville One-Touch Tea Maker. Like the title of this review says, I've had this tea maker for roughly 2 years, and use it on a daily basis to make over around 3 LARGE mugs of tea/day. I'm not a big herbal tea drinker, so I mainly use the Oolong and Green Tea settings. I have to say that this machine does exactly what I need it too, make good tasting tea...with some of the fancy settings.
Near perfection, with just one largely potential flaw

Summary: This is just superb. Its main virtues are the simplicity of use across the entire spectrum of teas, brewing time and perfect operation -- these are not enough to justify the price. What makes it unique is that it brings out every nuance of taste,,aroma, robustness or subtlety of the leaf. I don't think it is possible to make a better cup of tea.
