Summary: Only had it a week or so, finally boiled off the newly manufactured smell (a few days of boiling pots and tossing them out). I like it. It gives me the feeling like it might leak...but so far, it is doing fine. I wanted zero to near zero plastic, and I got as close as I could with this.
Summary: Second one we ordered, gave our older one to daughter. Reason we ordered a new one was because the metal bottom was heavily stained and using deposit removal did not work. We were hoping the new one would not have same problem but it is beginning to stain. Other than that, we love the pot.
Summary: I did a lot of research before buying this and I wondered whether I was being a dope for buying an electric appliance when I have a perfectly good stove. But I have a history of burning up teakettles. This one is fast and it is really beautiful to watch.
Summary: Bottom rusted on second month. For such a price, steel better be stainless. Out of warranty period - of course. _________ update Picture added. ( I wonder who is voting "not helpful" for this review. Must be those rust lovers. )
Summary: We have a lot of tea drinkers in our household, so the electric kettle has been a staple in our house for as long as I can remember. We have had cheap ones, expensive ones, all kinds over the years.
Summary: The Breville BKE595XL is a pretty good electric water pot/tea kettle. I like the glass body not only for aesthetic reasons (and it really does look nice in the kitchen or on the table), but also because the Schott glass helps to keep the water in the pot hot longer.
Summary: We had a nearly identical pot like this in Australia and loved it. So we decided to get this one after our move back to the USA. Still love it. It is easy to see the water level, easy to see when it needs descaling, and easy to clean.
Summary: Breville is the brand I have chosen for my small applicances for many years. I decided to try the CRYSTAL CLEAR KETTLE when I needed to replace my old one. I based my decision on several factors: 1.) far less plastic inside the kettle 2.
Summary: This kettle amazes me! I am huge Breville fan to begin with, so I'm not surprised by the high quality. But this thing is so fast you won't believe your eyes! I even timed it because I was in such shock! Just under 1 minute 30 seconds for 2 cups of water, and about 3 minutes 20 seconds for 5 cups.
