Summary: I've used this kettle at my in-laws' home, and was impressed enough that I want to buy one. Checking it out here, I saw the comment by the person who sent it back because the hot water would be exposed to "plastic". The word "plastic" (as he or she used it) covers thousands of different materials - and many of them are better at handling hot and corrosive liquids and keeping things ultra-pure than other materials, including stainless steels.
Summary: I bought one of those 3 years ago for 99$ (made in Germany) and I was very happy.I needED another one for my boat-now the same product but made in Czech Republic-charge of 150$ is JUST RIDICULOUS.
Summary: This is the first product of its kind that I've owned. I bought for our office,to quickly boil water for making tea or instant soup meals. It works just fine. The only improvement I'd like to see is to make the hinged lid open further back. The lid opens only about 60 degrees, making it a little difficult to fill with water and/or to clean inside. I'd recommend this product to anyone.
