Excerpt: It worked fantastic, however after the 7th time the motor burnt out. I have cleaned it, and boxed it up so it is ready to be returned to get my money back. My daughter has bought exactly the same one and it lasted 1 day. She has exchanged it for the same one and that lasted 2 days. Exchanged it again she is on her third one so who knows maybe third time lucky!
Excerpt: I was looking for a really good juicer which would leave the pulp dry and give me as much juice as possible, therefore I was prepared to spend extra money. I was very disappointed with this one... The good things: it looks very nice and that it is very powerful. The bad things: it leaves the pulp very moist so you don't get all the juice from your fruit & veg so you're basically waste your money. After 3 weeks the engine burned down.
BLEW UP IN KITCHEN WITH CHEMICAL WHITE FUMES FILLING HOUSE!!!

Summary: We bought this juicer to replace the Philips HR1861. It was a little pricey, but we thought since we've been juicing for a couple of years now, we should upgrade to the newer model. The first Avance we had for about a couple of months. Then the motor stopped working and kept starting and stopping. Amazon replaced this for us. The second one we had for just over a week.
Excerpt: I bought this juicer, and for the first week I loved it, I was using it about 4 times a day. On the 7th day I smelt burning, but thought perhaps it was from outside as I had the kitchen window open. The next day I was juicing and the smell returned, it was the machine. I took it back and got a full refund. I have since bought another juicer, and fingers crossed this is ok. At that price you would expect the motor to be able to cope, Philips need to look at this fault.
