After reading the many reviews that the motor burns out ...

Emma F., Amazon
  • Summary: After reading the many reviews that the motor burns out, I thought that a reputable business such as Philips surely would have rectified the problem before continuing to sell their defective product. As such I went ahead and ordered one. Only 3 uses later the motor burnt out. Utterly disgraceful and I'm waiting for Philips to reply to me to understand how in this day and age, it is possible to keep selling...

BLEW UP IN KITCHEN WITH CHEMICAL WHITE FUMES FILLING HOUSE!!!

CompGeek, Amazon
22 June 2014
  • Summary: We bought this juicer to replace the Philips HR1861. It was a little pricey, but we thought since we've been juicing for a couple of years now, we should upgrade to the newer model. The first Avance we had for about a couple of months. Then the motor stopped working and kept starting and stopping. Amazon replaced this for us. The second one we had for just over a week.

Don't buy one!

Mr J.Page, Amazon
23 April 2014
  • Summary: I should not of ignored other reviews about this products motor problem. The second week of use and a burning smell the third week and smoke pouring out as it continued it's premature self destruct. Nothing wrong with the product design and the daily use is easy, but the motor has serious issues. It doesn't seem to be under stress, in use, it just starts to smell and becomes worse. Returned and going for a different make. Philips need to address this problem soonest!

Do Not Buy

zammo, Amazon
21 April 2014
  • Summary: I have never written a review on here before, this is how strongly I feel about this product. I juice a lot, at least one juice a day, and so I wanted to buy a top of the range juicer. I did a lot of research on the products out there, and I also read the reviews on this one about the motor burning out. I largely thought that they were probably written by people who didn't follow the correct instructions, and so I dismissed them.

Oh dear ...

GSL, Amazon
28 March 2014
  • Summary: We've used our Avance HR1871 juicer almost every day since buying it two weeks ago - once per day to make two glasses of juice for breakfast. We have generally juiced apples pears and carrots and the results have been delicious, if a little frothy. The machine worked reasonably quietly and seemed to extract most of the available juice (the left-over pulp was always quite dry).

Don't buy this juicer

susan brodie, Amazon
27 March 2014
  • Summary: I was thrilled with this juicer when it arrived and continued to be so for around 7 days. Then it started to smoke and smell really bad and then stopped altogether. Amazon were great and sent me a replacement immediately. The second juicer has lasted about the same mount of time - it started smoking and stopped at the end of day 5 of Jason Vale's 5 day juice detox!!

Motor burns out

Stephanie Clark, Amazon
18 March 2014
  • Summary: My first one burnt out within 5 days and the replacement is on its way out. I juice once a day and after the first problem I am extremely careful. Now I have a routine of juicing I don not want to be without a juicer.
