Excerpt: Overall, this popper is really good. I love that the stir plate separates from the base -- it's so easy to clean. It does have clips on the handles of the stir plate that are not the strongest, however, so care needs to be taken with them so they don't break. One of mine broke, but Zappos replaced with without question, so I didn't even have to go through Cuisinart for warranty stuff. Overall, I'm very happy with how it performs.
Excerpt: Well, my first two reviews were not accepted, so will try this again because people really need to know! I've had one of these Cuisinart popcorn makers for a couple of years now (yes, foolish me) I'm on my second unit and well, the popping plate clips broke again for the 3rd time. The popping plate was under a year old so I tried to get it replaced under warranty but I come to find out the warranty applies to the serial number on the base of the unit, not the replacement...
Excerpt: I too have had a the handle break after about 2 yrs or less of use, and now i see most everyone has had the same issue, i manage to still be able to use it, it makes great popcorn, yes, slow but it is good. I have noticed that Cuisinart has a new model so perhaps they have fixed the issue, but unless you let them know they will not change the model, I will be emailing Cuisinart to let them know , but will not return, still under warranty but as others said just a hassle.
Excerpt: Bought this after reading how microwave popcorn contains chemicals that cause cancer. I have used it twice and apart from taking 3mins longer to make popcorn than the microwave, the kids love to watch it go, the popcorn taste better. Clean up is easier and faster than having to clean the microwave when the bag leaks and there is no overpowering odor either that comes with "butter flavored" popcorn.
