Summary: I was the happy owner of the original Bose sounddock for seven years until it stopped working this November. I thought that was a very good run. To replace the Bose I chose the Pioneer NAS3 and waited a month for the price to drop to $220. I like the clean design as I wasn't looking for a display nor was I looking for an alarm clock.
Summary: The Pioneer looks as good on my desk as it does in paper space. Build quality is excellent. The sound quality is just as good as the Bose sound dock and slighly better due to its unique downfiring sub in the base of the unit. Volume is more than adaquate for my office, since I typically play at lower volumes, but when I want to turn the volume up, the unit can handle the variation. There is only 2 cons that I can think of for this unit: 1.
Summary: Pioneer Electronics Audition Series XW_NAS3-K Docking Station for iPod has rich sound, looks good and the only negative comment I have is the remote. As reviewed by others, the remote has too narrow of an area in which it will work which is a shame as the product would otherwise easily get five stars.
Summary: Let me start by saying, this produces excellent sound. Let there be no mistake that you will enjoy listening to music with this dock. The remote is simple, but handy (although I still don't understand the point of the "holder"). It looks nice and does what it is meant to do well. My only problem was the Bluetooth adapter. I never could get my iPod Touch to find it, no matter what I tried.
Summary: I have been using this unit for about a month now. I have it in my lower family room (finished basement) in an open area about 1000 square feet. I already have a 7.1 surround system hooked up with a 1080p video projector, so I use this device for parties when I just want music. I have not hooked it up to a video source, which it can do with composite video outputs. Design: The design is your basic black, with professional looking glossy black finish.
Summary: Overview: Pioneer's Audition dock is intended to appeal to the music enthusiast--someone who is looking for real impressive sound well beyond what the $100 iPod docks are producing. This dock doesn't have the extra bells and whistles that the small desk docks / alarm clock docks offer, but it provides unmatched sound quality with its robust, built-in subwoofer.
Summary: I love the sleek design, handsome good looks of this unit. The sound is top notch. I am not a music affectionado, but I do love to listen to music and love a clear, crisp sound which this unit provides. The remote is very handy and good to have. On the downside, I think it is a bit bulky for what it is and it does take up room. I would like it a bit smaller than what it is. It is heavy for what it is.
Summary: First let me start by saying that this is the best docking station that you can possibly buy for your Ipod/Iphone Touch! The overall quality of this system is just remarkable, from the speakers to the design and layout of the buttons. Everything was engineered remarkably well! Once I unpacked the Docking Station, I was quickly able to get it up and running. Like I said before the sound quality is just UNBELIEVABLE!
