Philips' wireless speaker grenade

CNET
10 December 2013
  • Summary: The Philips SoundShooter Wireless has a sharp design and is one of the better-sounding sub-$50 tiny Bluetooth speakers -- and it has speakerphone capabilities to boot.
  • Pros: The grenade-size Philips SoundShooter Wireless has an eye-catching design, streams music wirelessly over Bluetooth, and delivers much bigger sound than its size would indicate. It features speakerphone capabilities and its built-in rechargeable gives you about 8 hours of sound.
  • Cons: No volume control on the speaker. It also distorts at higher volumes and can't handle big bass that well.

Philips SoundShooter SBT30 Review

Digitaltrends
1 December 2013
  • Conclusion: Philips’ SoundShooter SBT30 is no portable hi-fi, but it is one of the best-sounding tiny Bluetooth speakers we’ve come across, and certainly the most rugged. For adventurers needing a small, lightweight device that sounds better than their phone, the SBT30 is hard to beat. So long as buyers go in with reasonable expectations on volume levels, we think they’ll be pleased with their purchase. And as holiday gifts go, it should make a great stocking stuffer.
  • Pros: Fuller sound than most competing speakers, Includes speakerphone, Carabiner is surprisingly useful/ super portable, Charging cable doubles as input cable, Surprisingly long battery life
  • Cons: Lacks bass, Will distort if pushed too hard

Philips SoundShooter SBT30 'Grenade' review

wired.co.uk
6 November 2014
  • Conclusion: The Philips SoundShooter Grenade chucks out a big sound for a portable speaker . It's particularly easy to carry, though a proper cover for the speaker diaphragm would feel a bit safer when you chuck it into a bag. There's no option to hook up two grenades to deliver stereo sound, so there's no pretence that this is a hi-fi speaker.
  • Pros: Neat design, decent sound
  • Cons: Distorts at full volume
