Summary: These are beautifully crafted and stylish speakers. I have owned for just over 2 years and admired the sound and have put up with annoying dropout of the sound which we have correlated to operation of our Panasonic microwave in the next room. A week ago I noticed the speaker LED was blinking red (vs. steady green) so I turned the speakers off.
Summary: When it worked it worked well. Unfortunately it failed during warranty and was replaced. Second unit worked and alas......failed again, of course outside of warranty period. Told by Philips that nothing could be done. Product electronics are poorly made and I certainly would never consider buying again.
Quality does not match the look and price tag. DO NOT BUY IT FOR THE LOOK!

Summary: Only used for 6 months, then it got broken and even Philips Authorized Repair Center could not fix the speakers. It's a good looking with nice sound, but the quality does not match the look and price tag. Update: Sent the speakers to Philips authorized repair center, and the center could not repair it, and suggested to sent back to Manufacturer for warranty repair.
Knockout speaker with the best sound. Poorly designed and will die.

Summary: Absolutely breath taking sound. Like nothing you've ever heard or experienced even at low or full volume. After two months my lights on the back like so many others have just decided to turn to red which leads to reading forums and finding out there are huge issues with them. Then writing reviews like this and making people aware . There is a massive flaw in these lovely speakers they don't work and break on their own accord and once they break they are broken for good.
Summary: Beware of Philips products! Avoid these speakers! I cannot stress how bad Philips service is on top of faulty products themselves. First off, I was referred to this product page on Amazon by Philips U.S. website after clicking on the where to buy online link. I bought the unit from this page on Amazon. I later found out that the unit I bought was from the U.K. and had the wrong power plug for use in the U.S.
Summary: I ordered this product DS9800W/37, it stopped working 6 months later. I contacted Philips but they said my item was a DS9800W/10 which is not covered under warranty in the US (I'm in the US) because it is a UK item. I didn't realize I received a different product number until this time. The seller, Todays Bite, will not accept it because it is out of the 90 day window but say it's covered by 1 year manufacturer warranty which it is NOT.

Summary: These speakers stopped working about a week ago, 6 months after I purchased them. I contacted Philips Electronics about the issue. They sent me the following reply. "Dear Mr/Ms. Kaya We have received the proof of purchase for your DS9800W/37. However, it does not meet the required criteria and is considered invalid. Our policy for this seller is to return back to the point of purchase for any warranty exchange.
Summary: Same as all the other one star reviews. Worked for a few months, unreliably at that. Now failed altogether. Who cares how great the sound quality? There are lemon laws for automobiles. Why is this acceptable? Esp at this price point. Can we get a class action lawsuit?
Stopped working - what now?? Too late to return...
29 March 2013
Summary: I bought these speakers in May 2012 and they worked great until now (March 2013). The backlight doesn't light up anymore, I guess it's the same thing that many other people describe here. Considering I paid $700 for these not even a year ago, I am hugely disappointed. It's too late now to return them to the seller on Amazon and I live on Hawaii so any shipping will be super expensive. What's my options now?
