Summary: I looked at several high end docks including the top of the line Bose and B&W units. This unit was almost half the price but is a very solid good looking dock with great sound and more volume than most would need. Not for carrying around but great if you have a room in mind.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy to Mount, Easy To Setup, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: Considering that Amazon has it for $190.00 USD refurb, and free shipping within the US, I'd say it pretty much blows the B & W out of the water for Sound/Price... Btw, most folks I know prefer the Philips 'classic' look over the B & W 'weird' look... lol ps How are 2 inputs 'Extremely sparse'??! Did you expect HDMI & bluetooth?! 2 inputs is certainly 'reasonable'...
Summary: The 3* awarding does NOT apply to the product- that is pure 5*. Amazon asked me to review my purchase and that is what this is all about. I returned the item (it arrived far too late as a gift) and had to pay both my initial postage and return postage. I was - at the end of the day- £21.90 out of pocket. Complained to Amazon but no joy. Beware who you buy of, and their returns policy. My Amazon experience left a nasty taste in my mouth!
Worked then stopped working, but everything is good now!

Summary: Bought this last year off of Ebay, i bought a "manufacturer refurbished" model for £140 not bad considering it retails at £400! everything was going great on it, totally amazing sound and then after 5 months it just died so i thought i`d had it, i rang up Philips, gave them the serial number and proof of receipt next thing i know, Parcel Force is knocking at my door and took it way to a Philips repair centre i got it back within 10 days, fully fixed, it seems the power...
Summary: Excellent sound and sound quality. Used predominantly for docking new iPad. Doesn't charge it whilst in dock though! Which appears to be normal, after looking at threads on various forums etc. This is disappointing and should have been mentioned pre-purchase. Also one slightly annoying fact is that when the iPad has the cover on, it is tricky to connect to dock. I'm sure we'll get used to it. All in all excellent sound quality.
Summary: I ordered the DS9000/12 music docking system in September 2011 and it worked fine for 13 months until October 2012. Suddenly I have NO SOUND - and I am just outside the 12 month warranty! It appears I have paid £355 for a useless piece of junk. Philips NEVER AGAIN! Why have so many people awarded this item 5 stars? What's going on?
Summary: Lots of bass... in fact way too much bass... little mid range and no stereo separation worth listening to. Didn't we go stereo back in the 50s??? Just sounds wrong. I wanted to like it, but the sound it produces is just not right!
