Summary: I am not a big fan of Philips products, but this one has proven to be quite robust. Actually I just ordered mine and it has not come in yet, but we have been using one owned by our friend for 4 years now. Trust me; it has not been handled gently. It goes on every trip we all take and has been dropped, kicked and everything in between. Last trip if fell on concrete and broke and we thought, this is the end, but the damn thing worked even after that.
Summary: My iPod, iPhone, and iPad, all fit the dock. Good sound. Good volume. Easy to carry from here to their. Now there is no need for a stereo system with speakers in different rooms and another one outside...
Summary: I've had a few different models of iPod docks over the years but this ds8550 seems to be THE one I've been wishing for. The sound is awesome and the price I got it for is 1/3 the price of a Bose. It's too new to really test battery life but since I am charging it in my delivery truck all day, it will be a while till I get to that.
Summary: I absolutely love this speaker doc! The sound that comes out of it is amazing and I love the fact that it's wireless and I can connect it to both my ipad and my iphone. I also love how I can stream my Pandora from 3 rooms over. The sound quality is superb! I've used it for several events as well as personal use. It's sleek and stylish and doesn't take up a lot of room which is a bonus as well. Purchase this, you won't be disappointed!
Summary: Like this best for use with Bluetooth. There is no sideways support for an iPad, where it connects to the docking station. So, the iPad is easily dislodged. And, it's difficult sometimes to get the iPad on there just right, can takes a few attemps. Not as big an issue for iPhone. If I need another docking station, I will avoid one with this issue.
