Summary: worst product ive ever purchased. i will never, ever purchase anything from philips ever again. horrible customer service. the product itself arrived shattered and broken. the replacement arrived in the same condition. AFTER THE THIRD ITEM ARRIVED IN THE SAME CONDITION, i gave up on the monkey-in-the-middle customer service, and took it as a $100+ loss.
Summary: This product is around waist high, the sound quality in my large room of 400 sq ft is awesome, it fill the room beautifully and sounds exactly like Phillips says it does. I tried 4-5 different types of music and everyone in the house love it. Its a great price for product too, very cost effective - many of the small Bose systems are more expensive and fragile and get broken.
Summary: i have been looking for an Ipod docking station that plays good sounding music for the parties we have in our outdoor pool covered deck area, and this is the saving grace of all. i was a bit skeptical at first because it says it plays about 100w and while the sound might not entirely reach the claimed watts it is by far very usable as a music party system with good quality sounding music.
Summary: I bought this exclusively for its alarm function, so I could wake up to music. The problem is there is no way to preset the alarm volume - when the music comes on it is very quiet, but within seconds it is quite loud and you find yourself waking up immediately and panicking to find the remote control to lower the volume [so give it a 5/5 for its ability as an alarm]. No help from the manual, and Philips tech support had no solution either.
Summary: I guess I had higher expectations when I read all of the great reviews. Origionally I wanted to buy the Brookstone unit but could not justify the price so I thought this would be a good compromise...boy was I wrong! First thing I noticed was how cheap the unit sounded very small sounding giving the size of the unit. The bass is very minimal and the system sounds like a fairly cheap boom box.
Summary: I first thought of getting something like this when I heard the ipod tower speaker at Brookstone (also available through Amazon). That one was a little more than I wanted to spend, so I settled on this Philips unit. The place where I bought it didn't have one set up to audition so I bought it hoping for the best. The unit is fine in every way but the sound which is definitely second-tier boombox quality at best.
Summary: This looks like a great unit on paper, and it looks nice in your living room. But I'm rather disappointed with the sound. Given its size, I had expected a full, rich, and balanced sound. Sure, it was never going to be a "real" stereo, but I thought for sure it would be at least as good, if not better than mid-range tabletop docking speaker systems. Sadly, the sound is underwhelming. To my ear, it's harsh and shallow.
