    I like music to be playing in my home all day long without interuptions. This answered all my needs. Since I picked all the songs on my iPod (763) I like every song played. It is very easy to raise or lower volume and you can select'shuffle'which plays songs randomly (never the same artist in a row). The quality of the music is as though it is being played through my sterio. To sum up, it's quick, easy, and enjoyable. Read more

    This is a good quality sound system for your ipod. No real complaints. Came with all accessories and hookups. Was easy to setup and use. Remote control works but you need to be close to the unit for some functions. Sub-woofer will really put out the bass. I went from a cheap alarm clock that did not have a back support for the ipod. This one comes with a few different inserts designed to properly provide back support for the ipod. Read more

The Philips DC199B/37 is an iPod Docking Entertainment System composed of the main unit, which also doubles as a subwoofer, and two satellite speakers. The main unit/subwoofer measures approximately 6.3 x 6.7 x 10.1 inches (W x H x D) while each of the satellite speakers measure 3.15 x 3.5 x 3.15 inches (W x H x D). The speaker system comes in a black color with silver accents. The standard package also includes a slim wireless remote control (powered by a lithium CR2025/CR2032 battery), an FM radio antenna and 8 iPod dock adapters.

The DC199B/37 is compatible with iPod, iPod mini, iPod nano, iPod with color display and 5th generation iPod players. The Philips DC199B/37 can also be used with other brands of portable media players via a traditional 3.5 mm audio line-in jack or through a USB cable. FM radio is also supported and has 20 station presets as well as automatic digital tuning.

With an iPod or other portable media player connected, playback functions can be controlled through the main unit’s controls or the wireless remote control. In addition to playing music, the DC199B/37 can also charge the user’s iPod and use its music files for the alarm clock and sleep timer function. The DC199B/37’s alarm clock can also be set to tune in to a radio station or use a buzzer sound.

The integrated subwoofer utilizes a 4 inch woofer while the satellite speakers use neodymium magnets in its tweeters. The Philips DC199B/37 also features Dynamic Bass Boost technology, which accentuates the low frequencies at all volume levels for more consistent bass levels.
