  • Excerpt: The Macally Tune Pro has a sleek design that stands out from many of its competitors. The iPod dock with alarm is thin and has large speakers. However, the sound quality is quite low and there is no battery backup for power outages or to make the iPod clock radio portable.

MacAlly TunePro

  • Excerpt: (2 items) Waking up, if I may paraphrase, is hard to do. When you work out of your home like I do, that’s doubly true. What’s the motivation of rolling out of bed when it’s only a two- or three-foot commute to the office? In the past few weeks, my only real reason for getting up at all has been that I’ve been testing iPod clock-radios, among them the Macally TunePro . The first thing you’ll notice about the TunePro is its striking appearance.
  • Pros: Solid sound quality, Distinctive, stylish appearance, Plenty of radio presets, Good FM/AM reception
  • Cons: Alarms need to be manually re-armed every night, Buttons look and feel the same, making them hard to tell apart by touch, No battery backup

MacAlly TunePro iPod alarm clock

Techworld
29 November 2007
  • Summary: We don’t think the TunePro is at its best as a bedroom system, but it could well find life elsewhere, in the study, the office, or in presentations, courtesy of that useful line-in. The TunePro looks very cool in photos, although in reality the materials used don’t do the design justice, and the much-vaunted WOW factor of the audio enhancement truthfully doesn’t make much difference.

MacAlly TunePro iPod alarm clock

PC Advisor
16 April 2008
  • Summary: The TunePro looks in line with conventional iPod dock/speaker systems, rather than harking back to a golden age of clockwork or transistor radios.
