Some might say that Pure-Fi Dream’s problem is that it tries to do a little too much. Viewed as a pure rival for the SoundDock, and released last year minus the alarm clock functionality at a lower price, it might have made sense. But at this point in time, there are so many $150-$200 iPod speaker systems out there with similar body shapes and speaker configurations that Dream’s only standout features are ones that don’t really appeal to us; the shape, clock, and... The Logitech Pure-Fi Dream, a clock radio for the iPhone and iPod, has a nice mix of design and functionality. There are plenty of ways that I’d like be woken up in the morning, and top on that list is to be (a)roused by a beautiful supermodel. However, since that’s not very realistic, I’m quite content to stick to my alarm clock radios. The Pure-Fi Dream is a stylish clock radio that also functions as an iPod and iPhone-compatible music system. Created by Logitech... Read more

Here we have a few shots of the system tuned into a local radio station as well as using my iPhone. When using the radio, you can adjust the screen to display the radio station, time or graphic equalizer. The system also supports RDS (Radio Data System). Many radio stations broadcast RDS information which includes the station call letters and other text information such as the current song. Not all stations broadcast RDS but if yours does, it will display on the LCD... Read more

I use this product in my office to charge my iPhone while I'm at my desk while listening to music. Its a great addition and looks great. I purchased this dock because I had read that it has RF shielding - not found in many iPod docks yet - it works well and the speaker static is very minimal and only for a second on startup. The only issue so far is that I want to use the AUX for my computer speakers and I haven't gotten this to work yet and there is limited instruction... Read more

The sound quality and ease of use seem just fine with this unit. But, I am returning it for only one reason. The clock is too difficult to read in both day and night. It uses a semi-transparent amber background and then the same shade for the time, just a bit brighter. Unfortunately, this makes the time too difficult to read. It does not have a contrast adjustment to correct for this. Adjusting brightness does not help as it changes the intensity of the background and... Read more

So far (I havent used this for an alarm clock) I like this product a lot.. Initially I saw it for $500, then $375 then finally $250 at which point I had to buy. While the button layout is odd (you cant see what you are pressing while lying in bed) I am sure I will get used to the button layout. Overall I think for $250 its a great buy and sounds better then any other $250 alarm clock I have heard before! Read more

I heard a friend's Bose SoundDock and wanted one, but couldn't justify the price. I did a bit of research and found that the mid-range and upper Logitech products sounded pretty good. I went shopping and compared the sound to any products that I could find in the same price range, including the Altec Lansing iM600 and iM310, some Sony and TEAC systems, the 'lesser' Logitech products and a Grundig GDR710DABIP. I like a range of music (who doesn't) and tested the players... Read more
