Excerpt: The Logitech UE AirPlay Speakers are a single soundbar unit that offers a sleek design coupled with full, rich sound. Even at high volumes, you should hear clear, undistorted sound that will fill any average room. The AirPlay speakers are AirPlay enabled, which means you can control the speakers from anywhere within a single Wi-Fi network's coverage using any Apple or iOS device.
Summary: With an impressively sleek design, excellent sound quality and no-fuss wireless technology, the Logitech UE Air Speaker is a delight for both the eyes and the ears – but is it worth the high price tag?
Excerpt: Logitech has a new dog in the iOS speaker fight. Teaming up with Ultimate Ears — best known for the ubiquitous in-ear monitors you see worn by everyone from Bono to Bieber — the Logitech UE Air Speaker ($400) is a single-unit sound system whose engineers are out to prove that it has equal parts bite and bark. With a retractable dock and 3.5mm auxiliary input, the unit does allow for a traditional plug-and-play experience.
Summary: The Logitech UE Air Speaker is a worthwhile third-party AirPlay speaker for homes demanding premium sound from iOS devices, but bargain hunters can save $100 and go portable with the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker.
Pros: Logitech's elegant UE Air Speaker can capably fill a large room with dynamic sound, and its accompanying UE Air iOS app reduces pairing to a few easy steps.
Cons: The rotating hinge under the hardware dock feels flimsy and prone to malfunction.
Logitech UE Air impresses, but audio quality is just decent

Excerpt: (1 items) Logitech’s $400 UE Air Speaker gets an awful lot right. The UE in its name stands for Ultimate Ears, the formerly independent headphones company Logitech acquired back in 2008; Air refers to Apple’s wireless AirPlay technology, which the speaker uses superbly to play streamed music. Add to that a hideaway iPhone/iPod/iPad dock cradle, brilliantly easy setup, and very nice audio, and you get an impressive, easy-to-recommend speaker.
Excerpt: The Good (Usually) easy setup Convenient Wi-Fi streaming Above-average audio quality Stylish aesthetics The Bad Expensive pricetag Audio quality good, but not great Docking iOS devices unnecessarily difficult Slightly awkward button placement If maybe a little more slowly than Apple would like, AirPlay is becoming a staple of the wireless speaker market for iOS devices.
Conclusion: Apple fans looking for a speaker dock built with their devices in mind will adore what the Logitech UE Air Speaker has to offer. The sound quality is more than satisfactory but it is the ease of use and stylish good looks that will win the first-time user over!
Pros: Like the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin, the Logitech UE Air Speaker hits you with a stunning design straight from the box. This isn’t about understated playability, this dock is all about making its presence felt. The tapered shape is appealing and the three dials on the top give it that hint of industrial design. What’s more, the dock element itself is nicely tucked away at the foot of the speaker dock, so when not in use can be slipped away. You won’t find a remote cont...
Cons: Logitech and UE have kept the tech spec of the Air AirPlay Dock in the dark so other than the basics, it’s different to judge this dock against its contemporaries. We like the large volume dial but the flanking smaller buttons seem to offer little, one being a power switch, the other a Mute function. If the fixed device solution isn’t for you then you can always connect to the Logitech UE Air AirPlay Dock using the built-in Wi-Fi connection. The instructions are fairl...
Conclusion: The Logitech UE Air Speaker is a very competent AirPlay-enabled speaker system. It’s easy to set up and delivers very good sound quality. However, we felt it wasn’t quite as good as similarly priced speaker systems from other companies.
