JBL Radial Micro

Macworld
17 June 2007
  • Excerpt: (1 items) JBL's original Radial is one of our favorite iPod speaker systems, thanks to impressive audio quality -- among the best of any desktop system for the iPod -- and an attractive design. JBL Radial

  • Excerpt: This unit is fairly compact and the sound comes from all sides. You can change volume on the unit but to change tracks, etc. you need to use the remote or the iPod. It can’t run off batteries, making it less portable than some of the others. Sound quality is very good: full, clear and warm. On maximum volume, it is loud.

  • Summary: You'll pay a premium, but the Radial offers quality sound, an excellent remote control and a weird but attractive design. An excellent portable speaker system on the whole.
  • Pros: Great design, quality sound, charges and synchronises your iPod, works with any portable media player
  • Cons: Expensive, no bass or treble controls, can't run on batteries
