Summary: Mine came in just today. This is an out of the box review. Pros Clear Mids, and Highs Bass was on the spot. There's an additonal Bass boost if you want, but it's too boomy for my taste. (This systems works on a bass reflex enclosure. I guess you will have to move this around to get the proper "tune" or it'd be too muddy or boomy.) Cons (being nitpicky) -Remote Control would be a nice feature... -Lightning port swivels.. this scares me..
Summary: Love, Love, Love, it I recently bought the Philips DS3400/37 from Amazon for my niece - and it is a good product, but this one is so much better! It is like night and day. This one is Bluetooth (which is convenient), it is SO VERY LOUD (which has been good for large gatherings of friends, and the quality of the sound is amazing! All my songs have such deep and rich tones and great bass. The only thing missing is a remote control and it would be perfect!
Summary: Plugged it in, turned it on, turned on the Bluetooth settings on my iPad, and it worked perfectly. But after it was turned off, or was inactive, or really any time since that first time, the bluetooth simply will not work. I can't figure out what the problem is but it is pretty frustrating. And I don't like the Lightning dock as my iPad won't fit with the cover on.
Summary: This speaker is reasonably small and has great sound. Very loud and easily fills a room, as previously mentioned the lowest volume is not very low. If you have a case on your phone or iPad it will not dock but for the most part the sound is clear via Bluetooth. I have tried to use a Lifeproof fre, Otterbox Defender and Commuter and the Incipio Stowaway with negative results.
Summary: I had a portable Soundfreaq SFQ-04 unit already (which is great), but wanted a "full size" unit for my home. I bought the JBL for listening to both music and "TV". The sound quality is very good. And loud. Lots of bass and overall, a very nice sound. The Bluetooth reception is better than I expected. When listening to music (iTunes from my computer), I use the iTunes equalizer to control the sound. I started with the Dance setting and then customized it to my liking.
Summary: After having used this speaker for nearly a year in my office, and also as speakers for my desktop PC, I have found the ability to adjust the volume between different sources annoying. The buttons on top of the unit are not intuitive and easy to use, and there have been times where I have played back audio from my desktop, after using a bluetooth connection to my iPhone, only to find that the volume is WAY TOO LOUD!
