Summary: I was prepared to give this at least 4 stars. As others report here, the connector has some trouble if you keep your phone in a case - even a very sleek case. But I got around that problem by connecting to the USB port off the back. Sound-wise, I would have given it 5 stars.
Summary: Bought this unit to upgrade to the lightning connector and replace an older JBL unit (OnStage Micro with 30 pin connector). This newer unit shuts off and does not wake up when Iphone 5 starts playing. JBL technical support was not able to help.
Summary: I bought the JBL OnBeat Micro dock a few days ago. It's aesthetically very nice, and produces decent sound. I could even live with its super short and inconvenient lightning connector (got an adapter, so I would be able to plug in iPhone 6 without removing it from the case).

Summary: I LOVED this speaker!!... for the month that it worked. I got this speaker for Christmas. I use it daily and absolutely loved it until it suddenly stopped working. It does still charge my phone but it no longer functions as a speaker, for no reason.
