Defective Product

Max, Amazon
4 April 2014
  • Summary: The JBL speaker dock we received was defective. It would randomly pause or shut off, randomly turn on and start playing, randomly shuffle songs at odd intervals. We tried two different iPods and both had the same results. VCT Electronics return policy is very odd. Communication with them has been ambiguous and poor. They responded after we returned the unit that their technician tested the unit for several hours and it works perfectly.

Has a mind of its own

Sarah B., Amazon

  • Summary: I've had the JBL On Stage 200ID Speaker Dock for two months. Almost immediately after plugging it in, I discovered that it has a mind of its own. While my iPod is docked and playing, the speakers will change songs and pause, all on its own. At other times, when my iPod is docked but off or on pause, the speaker will randomly start playing on its own. It sounds good when it's playing . . . but I just can't control what and when that is!

Good iPhone speaker - but flimsy connector

MediaCritic, Amazon
2 September 2008
  • Summary: I've had this thing about a week. It's decent. The only real problem has been a random quirk where the volume drops really low by itself. I just turn it back up, but it's a pain. There's no predicting when or why this will happen. Annoying. I have occasionally, after taking a phone call, gotten the "This accessory was not made for iPhone" message, with the option to turn on "airplane mode". I just ignored it, and it went away.
