Summary: Sound quality is "ok", but I was not expecting anything spectacular. My main issue is with the on/off button. I can easily be inadvertantly turned on while being packed in a suitcase, which is what happened in my case. So the batteries were dead when I wanted to use it, and were drained down to the point that one of them started to leak. The on/off should be recessed or be made some kind of slide switch.
Summary: This unit is OK but I wound up returning it due to the fact there is no DC adapter for it to run on AC current in a wall socket. I got tired of recharging my rechargeable AA's all the time and forget about using alkalines unless you have lots of money to burn on batteries. Instead, I got the "Genius SP-i200 Portable Speakers for MP3 Players" on Amazon that is only slightly larger in size but sounds better, is far louder and comes with a DC adapter (uses batteries too).
Summary: Okay, These speakers don't have much bass; no surprise there. I bought these to bring to Mexico to listen to music on the beach and at the pool with my friends. They worked fine for that. My mp3 player has an equalizer, so I turned the bass down. Otherwise it gets fuzzy. Apparently, some other players don't have equalizer options. So, one player sounded fuzzy / buzzy frequently.
Works well but eats up batteries if used very often

Summary: We purchased this so my daughter could listen to music at night/nap while she sleeps, we had another portable speaker that looks like a stuffed animal and wanted something smaller. The speaker is awesome and we even listened to Led Zeppelin on it and it sounded wonderful. The only problem is that if you are using it as much as we do (roughly a 1 1/2 hr nap and 11-12 hrs per night) it only takes 6-7 days before the batteries die, which does give it about 78-91 hours.
Summary: I bought this speaker for use during travel. I like the built-in cord and overall design. The sound quality is also good with deep base as other have pointed out. However, at the highest volume setting, this speaker turns off automatically after playing for a while. It's possible that this is a defective piece and I'm returning it for that reason.
Nice sound, but has the dreaded Blue LED Power Lite
16 November 2009
Summary: Nice Sound, but has the dreaded Blue LED Power Lite. I use this with my iPhone (works with iPod also) to listen to talk radio. The Good: Nice Sound, Uses 3 AAA batteries (Rayovac Hybrid rechargeables are working fine). The Bad: Manufactured in Communist China. Has a blue LED power on indicator (it should be red or green).
