Summary: I originally bought this with the idea of listening to podcasts in bed at night without using headphones, so that I could sleep more comfortably. However, despite having a few EQ settings to pick from, there's really no good one for people's voices... they always sounded too "buzzy" and "bassy", which meant that they sounded muddled and indistinct at low volumes and simply too LOUD at higher volumes. Maybe it works ok for music, but not for podcasts.
Summary: This item will not accomodate the new ipod 4. This was not made clear in the description. If that Info is listed it is hidden in very small print. This is the second ipod related item I have ordered from amazon that doesn't fit the ipod 4. Please be more specific on this info or make it easier to find.
Summary: I purchased one of these in April of 2010. By Dec of 2010 there is nothing but a loud buzz connecting any device to the dock (have yet to try the aux input). I called the manufacturer for a fix but the unit is "out of warranty". Apparently they know they build craptastic products because it only has a 90 day warranty. Don't bother with this one if you want to use it for at least a year. If only the manufacturer had stood behind the product.
Summary: I owe a Bose iPod system, a Sony clock unit and have had a few other brands. Bought the iLive unit on a whim because of the low cost and I was pleasantly surprised. Sound quality is very good. Sturdy construction. I now have 3 of these and I haven't had a problem with any. Best unit on the market for the price.
Summary: In the description, it says this is compatible with iPhone and it technically is - if you hook up an auxiliary cable to the iPhone and to the back of the unit - why would I buy a docking station/speaker system if I can't even use the dock? Sound is also very tinny but the EQ feature is nice and changes the sound enough to cut down on the echo.
Summary: I ordered this dispite the reviews and was instantly pleased - the next day the thing didn't work the sound came on then faded out then back in and out again every few seconds. I contacted Amazon and the return was so simple (good to know) I ordered another and the same thing - it died on me within a few hours of use. I returnd this one for cash back and will buy a different model.
Summary: I got this for my office at work - each morning I plug in my Ipod and charge it while listening to music. The feature I like most is the aux port on the back - I attached the dock for my RoadyXT XM radio and now I get great music all day! The sound quality is good - a nice rich sound.
Summary: Quick delivery, I opted for the super saver shipping and it arrived before the expected date. It was packaged professionally, the product has a remote I wasn't expecting and works great. The sound quality is awesome for its size. I use it in my garage when I workout and it fills the space with sound, its not going to blow out my ear drums or anything but I am impressed with how full the sound is. I would buy more if I had a need for them.
Summary: I was really skeptic about this product. Because of some of the other reviews I read, I thought this was a gamble. I have owned this product for four months now and it has been great! I have two small children and they love getting up in the morning to music playing in the kitchen. I highly recommend this product to anyone on a budget. It has great sound quality and charges my ipod at the same time!!
Summary: This is an excellent inexpensive player. It's well made and attractive. I got one for my wife to use in her office. She loves it. After hearing it, I got another to use in our kitchen and then another for a Christmas present for friends. The backlighted clock is a nice feature - and the remote is a real plus. The equalizer works great. It's not concert hall sound - but, in a package this small, the sound quality is very good. You won't be disappointed in this player.
