Summary: Before reviewing the equipment, know that I am using a throwback version of the I-Pod, 160 GB version (3rd generation). It was produced in 2008 and I think all of this should be noted because different I-Pods might have different docking results. As far as the ihome is concerned, it is a nice little toy and does quite a few things.
Summary: You get what you pay for but in this case I was in the right place at the right time! I purchased this product when it was twenty-five dollars and as always thought... how good could it be at this price? This is my third attempt at finding a portable speaker; we've started to travel a little and it's nice to have your own tunes handy. While it's true you have to adjust the volume this is a great little system. At the present price of fifty dollars it's a great buy!
Summary: To be completely honest, I bought this speaker for its low price. I also got what I paid for! Pros: 1. Looks cool. 2. Comparatively low price. 3. The A/V port in the back allows you to hook up another speaker system to get stereo sound(see below). Cons: 1. Will not control an Iphone/Itouch. Only the controls for sound work(loudness bass/treble). Though it will play music from it. 2. Not Stereo.
Summary: I purchased this item on sale for $20 at Amazon and use it on the patio and in the garage. The case is made of shiny black plastic, the grill is silver metal, and the power brick is about 2"x2"x2" and plugs into the back. It has plenty of volume and sound quality for outdoors (sitting on back porch or cleaning garage/car). It's also lightweight and easily portable for moving about.
Summary: This may be fine if you are used to listening to an alarm clock radio, but if you listen to higher quality stereo, you will be disappointed. It is definitely flat sounding. I think the quality is equal to the price.
Summary: Surprisingly, this little speaker sounds pretty decent in our large kitchen/great room combination. I bought it back in February for only $20, but definitely think it's worth the $37.99 that Amazon is charging right now. Speaking of charging, was I amazed to discover that this unit DOES charge my new iPod Touch (2nd generation)! It was my understanding that it would allow the Touch to connect and play, but not charge at the same time--so this was a great surprise.

Summary: Hi i bought this as a gift for my girlfriend for her birthday. She has a 4th generation ipod and it works (which i didn't check if it was compatible so a relief there). This product weights around 6lbs, its very small and compact (a bit bigger than a Nintendo Game Cube). The sound is 4 stars out of 5, you need to adjust the treble. The remote is awesome, small and you can operate it from a distance of 15 feet.
