The reviews stated tat this was compatible with the iPhone 5S, it is not

Elaine, Amazon
29 December 2013
  • Summary: My son was so excited on Christmas morning and wanted to get it set up right away, unfortunately when he opened it, he realized it was not compatible with his iPhone 5. Have to send it back and begin the search for one that is compatible with his phone.

Ruined by an App update.

J. Packard, Amazon
5 December 2011
  • Summary: This alarm clock worked perfectly with my iPhone 4S until iHome updated the iHome+Sleep app that is required for it to work. It worked flawlessly, everyday for the 5 weeks I owned it ... but on Dec 2nd they updated the app, and now this is complete junk. The App crashes constantly, so don't count on it actually working when you want it to. If it doesn't crash, the update made it so that the alarm clock will not go off if you lock your phone or turn off the screen now.

No Go iPhone 4

JBH, Amazon
23 December 2010
  • Summary: Though the online specs for the product say it is compatible with iPhone4--it is not! Even after discovering I had to take off my phone's cover to dock, the product still would not charge phone. Very disappointing. As mentioned by other reviewers, the app is slick--but a little too confusing. Also, the display is way too bright, even in the lowest setting. For that reason alone I'd have to return it.

Good idea, poor execution

BThorn, Amazon
18 August 2010
  • Summary: I wanted an iPod alarm clock and the iA5's "App-enhanced" nature looked good, so I bought it. I wish I hadn't. Unfortunately, the app is very poor. There are some nice ideas in it, with "sleep cards" and "wake cards" to handle different situations, but the app is so complicated that it is nearly useless. When you're tired and want to go to sleep, you're not likely to want to fumble around an iPod app hunting for the right settings.

Broke after 2 days

C. Lollis, Amazon
21 May 2010
  • Summary: I purchased this as a mothers day gift from the kids for my wife. She had a twenty year old Sony alarm clock that still worked. Good thing, as after two days the the iHome would no longer charge the iPhone and it would give a message saying that the iHome was an incompatible device. I tried all the troubleshooting steps and no luck. I know it was not the phone as we tried two others and we are pretty sure it is a bad connection in the dock connector.

Only comes with US plug

Andrew Shaw, Amazon
30 July 2014
  • Summary: Unfortunately this product comes with a US plug and no interchangeable adaptor meaning you would need to buy a travel plug convertor to use it - not ideal. Would help if this was explained on the product details. Having to send the item back.
