Summary: Bought these with skepticism despite the great reviews. This pair of speakers is just it! great sound, bought it for xmas...and can't listen to any sound if it does not come from these speakers. thinking of buying another pair and stream to all of them at the same time...
Don't let their small footprint fool you as they sound amazingly "BIG"

Summary: I run an event photography business where I need music for added entertainment. During it's initial launch I was looking for a more mobile, portable and self amplified audio speaker system. I originally had some Sony SAVA-700 speakers just lying around and used those initially. They looked impressive and sounded great, but they were too cumbersome to lug around.
Great speakers and probably a great value for a 2.0 system!

Summary: After reading the few reviews on here and returning the Audioengine A5+s - I decided to try these out. When I first set these speakers up, I was a bit worried because there was (shockingly!) so much low end and the balance sounded very off to me. Also I definitely didn't want to disturb my neighbors and that seemed like a possibility. Those fears subsided as I started to use the speakers. I just turned down the bass and was able to get quite a balanced sound.
Summary: I have heard these next to a set of Aktimate Minis and believe me these are the superior speakers. More features (like an EQ), better design (these have an input selector while the Aktimates do not), Zero 60-cycle hum (the Aktimates exhibit a mild hum, as do some other less-than-ideally designed powered speakers), and AWESOME sound quality (I have not heard all speakers in this class but they sound a step above the Aktimates)
Summary: I already wrote a review about another Earthquake item that I bought with these speakers because I think that they're awesome products. These speakers are phenomenal! I got them for my bf's birthday, but they're really used by both of us. And even though they're marketed as iPod speakers, we use them for everything, including as the surround system for our tv.
Summary: these speakers are awesome! this was my first venture into some sort of sound system. i used them to throw a house party and they filled up the entire house with music. not to mention charging my iphone and/or ipod while playing the music. you can also use an auxiliary cable or rca cable if you don't have an iphone or ipod. the sound quality is incredible. needless to say, i have no complaints and am completely satisfied with my purchase.
Summary: I bought these speakers after looking to replace a Technics amp that I bought in 1983! I was originally going to dump the rest of my Technics set-up in favour of a reasonable docking station and an i-Pod / MP3. I then found these Earthquake speakers with a built in amp plus plenty of inputs for a radio, CD player plus a flying lead and a docking station for an MP3, so after buying a few leads it covered all of my needs.
