Must purchase separate adapter for iphone 5---Disappointing that Bose did not include this
2 weeks ago
Summary: Does not come with adapter for iphone 5 (which was not advertised at least from my seller). The Apple lightening to 30 pin adapter cost $33. I have purchased much cheaper brands of sounddocks in the past which came with adapters for all size iphones. Very disappointed that Bose did not include this.
Excerpt: The SoundDock has been a welcomed addition to my workspace. It's not that the speakers on my MacBook Pro were not sufficient, but rather that with the SoundDock behind me, steadily boasting beats-a-plenty, I find myself mesmerized in tune with my work and the crystal-clear sound that the SoundDock produces. Although the sound quality is good, the overall construction of the unit could be more sound.
Summary: I'd purchased a Sony RDP-X80iP docking station brand new for £149.99 as a gift for someone & saw the benefits of having a docking station. In an effort to go one better, I thought I'd get a Bose for myself. Afterall, Bose is a brand name that you can trust and there were some really good reviews on here, so I thought it would be £259.00 well spent.
Summary: Firstly the actual sound from such a small device is excellent, a bit bass heavy but this is sorted out with an equaliser. Feels very solid and i found a Bluetooth adapter for mine so i can use bluetooth if i ever wanted to. The major let down for this device is that it hisses when the ipod is docked at no music sound level, or at low levels. I thought it maybe something to do with my iphone, so i used a 3.5 jack from my laptop into the back and it still hissed.
