Summary: I do like the sound quality for this compact music system, but there are a couple of flaws with the sounddock 1) as others have pointed out, the docking connection is flimsy and doesn't allow for an ipod/iphone to be connected while in it's case. I ended up buying an additional connecting (male + female) cable from cablejive which solved this problem 2) there seems to be some kind of "sleep" mode for the speaker, in that it cuts out all sound after about 20 min.
Summary: It honestly is not a bad unit but........it is not as clear as what some posters are saying. again it does sound not too bad but there is 2 major flaws with it considering the price. 1) the docking part is very weak, I don't understand why they can't build it stronger, when you move the unit the dock part flops down a bit and really feels cheap. But that's ok as the circuit boards are available online so you can replace it when it breaks.
Summary: Honestly I hear so much hype about bose and when I went to try it at future shop it was pretty good so I took a chance and bought it and honestly... It does have really really really good quality sound, like clear as can be but just not enough base for my taste. When I was 2 feet from it I liked the base but more than that like 4 feet the base doesnt impress me.
Summary: My Harman Kardon Sound Sticks were broken (accidentally) during a move and I replaced them with the Bose SoundDock Series II. The fact that I can drop my iPhone into the unit is fantastic. The auxiliary input from my laptop while the phone is charging - also great. The problem is the sound at low volumes.
