Summary: I've owned one of these players for a little over a year and I can recommend it based on sound quality and power. My only complaint is the rather standard-sized transformer pack (separate from the unit), but this is an issue with most similar units. I didn't realize this when I purchased this item, but it has an in-built battery that allows it to play for at least an hour after it is unplugged.
Summary: Have had this for over a year and am very happy with it. Audio quality is excellent at mid volume upwards and it really goes very loud. Only issue i have is that on a low volume it sounds pretty average.
Summary: I purchased this item after a great deal of research. Let's start with the good points first.. and it has many. 1. Sound Quality: It simply sounds great. I listened to some Bose system and numerous other brands and it's in a class of it's own. I bought it based on reviews and without hearing it first. I wasn't disappointed in that respect. 2. Build quality: Again, it is 1st class.
Summary: If you are looking for a premium iPhone speaker you wont be dissapointed. The sound quality is awesome, excellent tone balance and definition. I have tried it with jazz, rock, r&b, vocals and classic and the sound is definitely pure hi-fi.
Summary: The music this little guy puts out ,is beyond amazing, it actualy gave me goose bumps, the clarity and depth will blow you away, the eight hour battery is a huge bonus, making it portable ,now I want another one. as you can stream music, from your ipod, to up to four rcubes!
Summary: Firstly, I apologize for the long review but surprisingly there are very few reviews for this device, so I wanted to cover a lot. Once you get in to the realm of hi-fi and niche audio equipment you are dealing with users who have a very particular taste in what they want. They aren't willing to grab whatever ipod music player is on sale at Costco.
Summary: I read all the great reviews online especially in British websites and decided to try it. The mid range and highs sounded perfect. The bass was a disaster. Not "tight bass" like they say in their manual but a hollow mess. No matter where you positioned it, even in a corner like the manual suggested it it distorted the great highs. I could have lived with this only to find out that the product was defective. The remote stopped working after 1 use.
Summary: I have to agree with others that there is a battery issue with this product. The first thing you have to realize is that it will not charge unless it is in 'on' or 'standby' mode. I received a response from Arcam confirming this. However, when I noticed that the performance was only 2-3 hours even with the iphone charge turned off, that was just unacceptable. When I sent a note to Arcam about this, I received no response at all. They can have it back.
Summary: very disapointed with this and am returning it. The problem i have with it is the mid range sounds terable, totally flat and lifeless. it sounds like it distorts even at low volumes which is odd when it copes with the bass ok. The high end sound great but is pointless when thats all you get. high and low end totally let down by a mid range that sounds like its in a fish tank. really gutted i'm taking it back as i like the portability and usually love arcam.
