Summary: I have purchased lots of products by Altec Lansing over the years. I have purchased 8 portable MP3 players. I own some and have given them as gifts too. I have bought six inMotion iM600 units. They have the largest amp in their class, digital quality FM tuner, remote, iPod docking/charging station, lithium ion battery, additional input. My complaints are that Altec has a new version that does not come with a sub-woofer output like the original version did.
Summary: I bought these speakers to replace my old Altec Lansing speakers that I had for my old iPod. When I got the iPod Touch I wanted to make sure the connector size was right, and I just wanted to upgrade anyway. I am really glad I stuck with Altec Lansing. They seem to have great products, and the speakers have surprisingly good sound quality.
Summary: 1) Works with 5th Generation Nano (see my pictures). Just remember the insert that came with it. Not that it won't work without the insert, but it won't dock as well 2) Sound quality is good, not Bose, but good for $100. Furthermore depends on the quality of your songs in your iPod 3) Dock fits well, I moved it around with the iPod and no connection problems 4) Radio pickup is relatively good 5) Easy to figure out how to use, easy to program stations into remote 6) The...
Summary: I have been looking for an iPod docking station for quite some time and was split between the Bose system and this one. While I was leaning towards the Bose for all the positive reviews, I just couldn't bring myself to shell out $350 for the portable model. For $100 I couldn't be happier with this unit. The battery seems to last forever, the sound is great, and it's a snap to use. Even my 4 year old has no problem using the remote.
Summary: Great equipment. Great sound and ease of operation. Would have given a full count, but for the lack of a case to protect against scratches and dents. The glossy acrylic body case is very prone to grease and finger prints. I'd recommend a satin finish instead.
Summary: I also wasn't sure that I got the newest version of these speakers despite looking everywhere for the model number on the box; I had to call the company to find out the difference between the old and new to be assured that I got the new one. That being said, it's got good sound quality for its size and the remote is handy (it will only let you choose songs from the current playlist, you can't use it to go from one playlist to another).
Summary: Comments about Altec Lansing inMotion iM600 Portable Audio Speaker System: This really sounds great. Hopefully your neighbor won't blare music using these speakers. Altec Lansing makes good gear in general. Only four stars because, to me, the iPod is a personal music system and if you are at home, play the music through the PC (save some money.
Summary: This item unlike the other iPod-friendly speakers that have an FM radio option, sounds really good! Not the transistor radio type sound and there is a subwoofer out jack input. I purchased it to take on vacation in August and have not been disappointed since with almost daily use. It sits in my office at work, which make it very useful to get the news stations and listen to music that suits my mood through out the day.
