Loved it . . . at first

A. Mccormack "Will Work for Beads", Amazon

  • Summary: When I first got my im600 I was thrilled. It has great sound quality and stylish looks. Unfortunately I've had some problems it. I can only get the stereo to turn on with the remote. If the little remote gets lost then I won't be able to use it at all. The battery has never recharged so that was a real disappointment. I have to plug it in to use it and even then it won't charge my iPod. I've read a lot of good reviews about this product, so maybe I just got a lemon.

Defective from the start--will not charge/connect any iPod (Nano, Video, Touch)

John Dorman, Amazon
18 November 2009
  • Summary: I've had other Altec Lansing speaker products and have found them to be top-notch, including the inMotion products and stand-alone speakers. This product had problems within the first week. Even with the proper adapters, the iPod Nano and Touch simply don't work (charge or play) with this unit, and I can only get the video iPod to play if I physically hold the iPod in the unit "just right".

Junk

Jay L. Palmer, Amazon
18 September 2009
  • Summary: The sound quality is really poor. Right out of the box it sounds like it has a blown speaker, but it's jsut thtat it has really poor bass responce. The iPod jack worked for about two weeks, now it wont play iPods any more, the same thing happened to my Dads. Now I have an expencive rechargable radio with a remote that has really poor sound. I wouldn't recommend this product to anybody.

Just give it some time... to break

Ip, Amazon
16 August 2009
  • Summary: After less than a year, the unit stopped recognizing an attached ipod. It looks brand-new, but is nothing more than a limited-function radio (without any ipod function whatsoever). I guess this isn't surprising for new electronics these days, but buyer beware, anyway...
